I didn’t see this mentioned, but this update fixes the problem in Helpdesk where attachments weren’t being sent when email was set to HTML. It works again! Good job, I had really been missing that feature and am very glad to see it working.

Good Job. new features.

installing it on upcoming Friday.

Hi is it possible to sort by attributes for example on the new version?

Thanks

Noam

Just installed and great to have the esx inventory avialable. Spice works has amde suport at our school much easier for teachers and IT staff, and much more open.

The only issue is a cosmetic one as the assignee column header doesn’t line up over the assignee column.

A quick check before we move ahead here … Any issue with upgrading from version 4.1.39315 to 4.6.48797? Instructions needed? Or just install over current version?

Much thanks!

garence

Yipeee!!! Thanks!

Just installed it and the first thing that hits you is the speed, its well fast!

Before I install this upgrade, does anyone know if the Help-Desk-Only User Role plugin will still work?

Because I have 2 other support staff that are only allowed to work with tickets and thats what this plug-in does.

I dont want it broken.

I have to say, this is a fantastic update. Spiceworks had always appeared fairly cramped on my widescreens, so I love that it can fill the entire window now. The quick view of alerts is nice, too. However, my favorite may be the ESXi support - I have my first ESXi server coming today, so getting 4.6 installed yesterday was a timely surprise. Very well done.

@Rafi5646

Yes, there is a new plug-in for the Help-Desk-Only user role. Just upgraded to 4.6 within the hour. Although it seemed agonizingly slow (45 minutes to complete) it’s up and running, first Health Scan was very speedy. So far so good!

Well done SpiceWorks team, you keep exceeding our expectations.

I went to the Plug-ins area and noticed there was an update so I made a backup of the database and went ahead with the upgrade.

I should note that, I made the mistake of not shutting spiceworks first before executing, and the installer didnt give any warnings and attempted to install and gave error message because an executable was still active. That might be something that spiceworks should check, when doing and install.

So I canceled and exited spiceworks and restarted the installation and all went well. Spiceworks has only been active here for about 1-2 months so the database is not that huge, the upgrade went under 10 mins.

i just updated it, without any problems!

thank you spiceworks for the fast developement! ceep up the good work!

Try changing the scan speed to slow.

all ready… nice!

Whoo hoo, it’s out.

Great job on the new version. Now I have to update the helpdesk customization plugin :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm… Guess I’ll wait til the new plugin is updated until I update the app. I can’t imagine not having the customizations for the help desk.

Really great effort Spiceworks!

We’re really happy to get it and a few days earlier than predicted to boot.

Gives us the weekend to update all our installs and redesign the helpdesk notification email.

Thankyou all very much.

I am bummed…I was having fun every 24 hours or so testing the next build and reporting the findings…now what am I going to do?

Seriously - I couldn’t wait to get this build in my production environment as the enhancements are outstanding. The developers at Spiceworks really did a great job on these enhancements (and fixes). Thank you!
