The group is large indeed… only problem… it’s zombie dead like. Most members are not even from montreal and last event was a meeting earlier this month… 3 people attended… before that nothing over the year. Sounds like I’ll have to make some spiceworks research to pin point montrealers and revive that SpiceCorp.

{"@type":"Person
mathieucohen
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/mathieucohen"}},{"@type":"Answer

I was just going to suggest maybe start some kind of Coup and overthrowing the current Corps government and maybe they can start having quarterlys again lol

{"@type":"Person
doughnutdestroyer
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/doughnutdestroyer"}},{"@type":"Answer

I think I might make it a little personal project once everything cools down at work. We had projects on hold for CIOs approval, now they’re all getting approved at the same time… next month will be a busy one so I’ll start looking into it after Christmas probably.

Thank you very much for the university link, I had a feeling something like that existed just wasn’t sure where to find it. I was wondering if there were any online courses I could take to better understand all the opportunities Spiceworks can offer my IT department.
I’m mostly interested into the system audit and key/software/hardware management it provides, but I’d like to learn more about it. I need to start inventorying pretty much everything we have in our network, which represents, including phones, printers, machines, servers, softwares, keys etc. etc… around 1000 entries. I would like to use Spiceworks to do this as we already use it for it but I have that strange feeling we don’t use it to its fullest and simply scrape it instead of diving into it.
So, is there anywhere I can go to get classes on how to efficiently make use of Spiceworks software?
3 Spice ups
There is Spiceworks University:

But it sounds more like you want a product Demo rather than actual in app training.

My reco… Spiceworks is free. Install it in a home or test lab to see if it’s right for you before you roll it out to your company.
nah it really is an in app training, my manager implemented Spiceworks in 2010 and it works just great, I simply need to understand it and know more of it as I’m only working there for 4 months, and himself told me he had not have the time to look into it more than what his base needs were (he was alone) So I’m taking time at work to learn about it and maybe it will allow me to come up with solutions to problems we’re having for couple years.

ahh right on. Well then yea SWU is the way to go. I would also get involved in your local SpiceCorps, most have quarterly meet-ups that discuss SW, changes in SW, and anything else that comes up.

Could you tell me where to go to find them?

I’ll bet Montreal has a killer SpiceCorps group.
