Spiceworks Community Maintenance on December 14, 2022

Starting at approximately 6 PM CST on Dec. 14, 2022 (12 AM UTC Dec. 15), we will perform maintenance on the Spiceworks Community.

We anticipate this downtime taking no more than one (1) hour. Based on that, maintenance should end no later than 7 PM CST (1 AM UTC).

We will be performing a backend database update that will not affect any user facing functionality directly (“nothing to see here!”). We will put the Spiceworks Community in full maintenance mode during this maintenance; as a result the Community will be completely inaccessible.

Keep an eye out here or on our Status Page to keep up-to-date with our progress or any changes.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Because this notice is to inform the community in general of something that the devs are going to do… details when they actually do it will be there. They don’t have any reason to post and tell everyone to read this post that just points over to them… that would be just sending people in circles.

I only expressed my expectations due to past practice of Spiceworks. Even with past practice of Spiceworks, there will still be a significant share of Spiceheads not becoming aware and reporting issues.

And what’s the difference between internet and Internet?
I’ve more experience with Internet but still don’t know the meaning of internet. And when I read certain topics, it seems to me that some Spiceheads even don’t understand the difference between Internet and public web servers as they seem to consider these synonym.

I’ve seen especially young people doing so. I never tried understanding why they do so, especially when they know the answer already before submitting their request! And never has one of these asked me why I don’t do so or which better alternatives exist.

Am glad that I am an Aussie as the maintenance is whilst I sleep and dream of Data centres, cable management, server racks…you know all the drool worthy things us IT geeks normally dream of
