Can I use spiceworks from one central location? Or do I have to install this on every server that I support? If I can just do this from one place so that I can track my clients as a whole how do I do this?

Thanks,

Brian

Big you can have one central server. Its best practice to install remote collectors if you are collecting data across a WAN. Take a look at the link below

Thanks JC. Will this also work for helpdesk and IT services etc? What I’m trying to do is be able to monitor my clients from one place, and for them to be able to still contact me with helpdesk issues etc.

Multiple User Portals are available with remote collectors. A remote collector is a full SW but is reporting back all data to the central server.

If we are talking about being all in one network then you are fine. For example we have one central install of SW at our corporate office. I have 5 remote collectors setup in each of our other offices collecting all the scan data and reporting back to my central server. Helpdesk works the same way in the same network. We have both a user portal setup for people or they can just email helpdesk and it will auto generate a ticket in Spiceworks. Take a peek at all the how to’s on the initial setup of spiceworks

Actually no all my clients are from different companies. So different networks.
