Hi. Now, my Spiceworks on-prem show "Spiceworks is ending support for this app after Dec.2021. " what happining with my Spiceworks after 31. dec.2021, it just stop working or what!? Need to understend

Nothing will happen.

But you wont get support from the team - you should consider moving to the cloud for helpdesk/inventory or look at alternative products.

I have seen comments and notes about losing the ability to send/receive emails to and from your helpdesk from Microsoft 365 due to changes in security at Microsoft. Here is a quote from an message from Sean at SpiceWorks: “In addition, as we communicated last year, both Microsoft and Google are making improvements to the security of email mailbox authentication. These changes will make GSuite and Office 365 mail services unusable by users of the Desktop 7.5 application. Following deadline extensions from Microsoft and Google because of the COVID-19 crisis, there are currently no published firm dates for the final “cut-off.” But Microsoft and Google have already begun the transition for new email accounts, and they appear to be targeting a complete transition later in 2021” Here is a link to that message:

The EOL announcement was published in Spring as referenced by Todd. If you need to understand, look into that thread. At the end of the original post, you’ll find a link to a followup summary with additional clarifications within the same thread. Sean also proposed how to prepare with which kind of preparatory tests if you intend to continue sticking with the legacy edition beyond EOL. So far, I’m not aware of any Spicehead having followed Seans recommendation of preparatory tests. If anyone did nevertheless, no one has provided feedback of their findings. I guess this due to be more efficient to migrate either to another Spiceworks edition or a 3rd party solution. And if I remember correctly, Brendan of Spiceworks has published some further technical details in October of which features of the legacy edition require access to backoffice services which will no longer be available after EOL.

It will continue to work as you have experienced in your preparatory tests as recommended in the EOL announcement. The feature set will be smaller and continue to decrease after EOL.
