Are there limitations re: the number of subnets/devices that Spiceworks can handle before becoming somewhat unusable? We have a network of 25+ subnets and 1300 devices. Is this beyond the scope of what Spiceworks was designed to do?

1 Spice up

Hi Brian,

I’m sure others will respond but here is a thread from a few months back where users share the size of their installation.

Largest Spiceworks Installation .

Past 500 devices you’ll start to find that you’ll need a box with more horsepower. You’ll want to stagger your scan schedules so it doesn’t run very often. You’ll also want to use custom groups to split up the devices. Loading 1300 devices at once will make it slow. You’ll find the UI faster if you use groups to load 100-200 devices at a time.

Ok. Thanks. I do have it broken up by subnet, the largest of which has about 130 total devices. But typically they have 15-30 devices.

I also have a slew of groups. Some for printers, some for a particular location (subnet), servers, tablets, etc.
