Hello, I did a windows update and spice works would no longer start up, just hanging at the start up page. I then undated spice works and the issue remains. Can someone help resolve this for me?

here is my startup.log

startup.log (112 KB)

Possible the service username and password got scrambled. Look for the Spice works service on the server and make sure it stays running. It can stop after a few min when it finally figures out it can’t run making troubleshooting difficult. If this is happening the service may need a username and password put in it.

No SpiceWorks service is running. Just the Spicework desktop tray manager in the task manager. On the desktop, the progress bar is at 100% and the “Startup” and local computer name just flashes, but nothing else.

Anyone?

In the startup.log it says that the Apache Server has a problem to start. Which Windows updates have been installed?

Is the spiceworks service up and running.

Thanks for the reply, here are the Windows update KB numbers:

The Spiceworks service won’t start automatically. I have to start it manually. Once I do this the issue remains.

Is there anyone out there that can help. Please lend your assistance, really in a bad spot as I can no longer use Spiceworks.

Hey Devin,

Can you shoot a message over to support@spiceworks.com? It’s probably a good idea for us to get a full logs package so we can figure out what’s going on.

It does look like Apache is having problems starting up but I see some bits about a migration within startup log. We might want to track that down.

Thanks, I’ll do that now

Sorry that i could not help you furthermore. I hope sw support team will find the problem. Good luck.

Hey Devin,

Were you able to get this sorted? It looks like my colleague Matt reached out to you via support@spiceworks.com, so I want to make sure that message made it through.

Hi,

I’m still working with your colleague on this, thanks for checking in on me.

Just got me up and running, looks like I needed to change my http port number. Thanks for all your helpl.

Hello.

Just solved the same problem with the same solution.

Everything I did before was to activate Nmap and persistent finder.

Changed ports, problem solved. Got back to the ports that was blocking the startup, it is working fine. Have no clue.
