We have another SpiceWorld update for you! As you may already know, the place to level up your IT skills is happening on November 13 and 14, 2024, in Austin, Texas. But did you know that we’re heading back to the AT&T Conference Center?
We’re still finalizing registration, but we want to get this information to you as soon as possible. Here are the important things to know:
- Once registration opens, tickets will be $149 for up to 30 days as an Early Bird Special.
- After 30 days, the price will change to $299 and climb to $599 by November 1.
- Guest Passes will be available for $100 for after-hour festivities.
If you’re unfamiliar with our Guest Passes, this is a way to share the spice with a friend or colleague. This will allow them to attend the Welcome Reception and SpiceWorld Party (but not any of the actual sessions at the conference.
We’ll provide more details once the registration page is live, but this should allow you to continue planning for the spiciest conference where you can level up your IT game!
My very first SpiceWorld was at the AT&T Center, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I’d love to recreate this photo from 2012, which I still use to discuss the real meaning behind the Spiceworks Community.
If you’ve been to SpiceWorld before, which location was your first? Was it the Austin Convention Center? AT&T? Are you one of the few, like @glenn-p, whose first one was at the Alamo Drafthouse? What did you love about it?
Which location was your first SpiceWorld at?
- Austin Convention Center
- AT&T Conference Center
- Alamo Drafthouse
- Haven’t been but looking forward to it

Keep your eyes peeled in the spiceworld area for updates and conversations about things such as who you’d like to see keynoting, Call for Speakers, and more!

Are you planning to reserve room blocks again like last year? I’m already seeing AT&T has 0 availability for the 13th.

Oopsie, got too excited to answer your question!
I attended my first SpiceWorld event at the Austin Convention Center back in 2016.
As a Spiceworks employee, my perspective of SpiceWorld was different from that of a regular attendee. However, attending the event helped me gain a clearer understanding of what Spiceworks is all about. It was like experiencing the Spiceworks Community in real life! I found everyone to be just as engaging and fun in person as they are online.
Can’t wait for SpiceWorld 2024!

I do believe so, but let me confirm that to be 100%.

Saw the same thing… Already booked out so can’t get a room there. Doesn’t look like this SW is going to be very well attended… Very unfortunate, I would really want to go.

I sure hope that a block of rooms will be available. Perhaps the 0% availability is because the block for SpiceWorld has already been set aside. It would really suck to have to hike in from another hotel in the area.

My answer of “Other” to the poll is because I was able to attend the “virtual” SW in 2020 during the pandemic. So the “location” of my first SpiceWorld was online.
I hope to be able to attend in person sometime.

Oooh, good point! I guess that was technically my first as well, and they did such a good job of that one, I’ve been to the live events ever since! Guess I need to change my vote…

Just confirmed with the team, and we do have a reserved block of rooms at AT&T that we’ll be publishing when the registration page goes live.
More info on this soon when registration goes live!

Mine was at ACC in 2018. And I came away from SpiceWorld 2018 in total awe. I was blown away how awesome it was. I loved how friendly everyone was and the new friendships I started.

My first SpiceWorld was 2013 as a Spiceworks Employee! Awesome to attend as a vendor now, but definitely weird to not be behind the registration desk.

So now instead of going as a Spiceworks employee, you have to Ninja your way into the place?
