I am trying to remember who set this up previously?
Anyone interested in doing a step challenge? Maybe do one a month? I’m really going to focus on my health for 2025 and what better way to do that, then compete with others?

Could do with upping my step count and a challenge would be a good start. Better than flying solo. Guidance for my age states 7.500 steps a day, but always get at least 10k a day.

Scrap that, just checked step count for yesterday - 19.749, time for a nap

Would it be one of these?

Hey @HulkSmash! I’d love to get the spicy step challenges up and running again. Should we start up again on Monday, Jan. 6th?
What do we think about the every other week cadence like we had?

For anyone who wants to join us to be a part of the group and get notified of future step challenges, you can join the group here.

Um, I sat and worked a puzzle all day yesterday. Today, I’m de-decking the halls so I think I could hit 10,000 easily. I’m all for starting on January 6 and doing weekdays only (although, I do tend to walk more on the weekends).

I’m totally the same way. I usually spend a lot more time in the garden and get more steps on the weekend. At some point we did a poll and the majority wanted weekdays, but I’d be open to whatever. :slightly_smiling_face:

Absolutely! Let’s start Jan 6th and run it the same as before.

I’m up, we do things like this at work sometimes. Are we going by purely steps or are we taking equivalents for other things? Either is fine with me but I think we need to clerify this.

It’s only steps. You download the Pacer app on your phone. It’s free.

Count me in!

Hmm… lemme do the first search…

Only one Michael in the challenge and only one Michael in this post so I am going to assume that you took 1st!? Congrats. I really tried to catch you. Next time!
@Tamara-Spiceworks Thank you for keeping this alive.

It just fully made me aware of how often I don’t carry my phone with me.

That’s the problem I found with using a phone to count steps, it’s several thousands less than my watch counts as I’ll often just leave my phone lying around at home while I go do something else in the house!

Same problem. I found myself leaving my phone when I take my dog out.
My watch doesn’t sync with Pacer. :frowning:

Last year, I committed to taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator (most of my users are on the 1st floor, but I’m on 3). I was using the Fitness app on my iPhone, and it was motivating me. I’m still trying to use the stairs going down, but sadly, I had to go back to using the elevator going up for the sake of a very weak right knee (going up stairs with it makes it crunch a lot). That’s really cutting into my available steps for the day (it’s a fairly small building, just has several floors). I think instead, I’m going to try to get back to using the stationary bike at home again…I was doing 3-4 “miles” a day on it for a while until I lost motivation, though I keep it on a fairly easy setting to avoid too much knee strain.
