I’m using it right now to write this review…

So I have a VPN connection going, RDP’d into a machine on the network and then used Chrome Remote Desktop to access one of my PC’s and booted up TeamViewer to access this computer so I could write this review and show you how easy it is to use TeamViewer to write reviews.

I’m downloading Remote Desktop Manager Free to go deeper. I also still have VNC available.

Thanks TeamViewer!

Unethical Business Practices

Look Elsewhere! Buyers Beware!
TeamViewer forces renewals unless cancelled 30 days before current license expires.
Great thing is that it is never mentioned when purchasing, and there are no notifications prior to renewal date.
Thought I just had the choice to renew, so I scrapped the program. Well guess what? I have to pay for it, and now a collections company in Europe is after me instead of TeamViewer themselves. That makes it so much easier to dispute or pay, lets deal with Europes hours of operation and conversion rates. WHAT!?!?
I have never dealt with a company so blatantly against the customer in my life. They deserve no ones business.

What are the pros?

Good remote software. Too bad their business practices destroy all that is good about the product.

What are the cons?

Everything listed overall.

Pretty easy, convenient, and reliable

I’ve used this a good bit for doing remote support work and product info sessions. It’s easy to use for people that aren’t familiar with the software and is a great tool for communicating across computers.

What are the pros?

Pretty good viewer, not TONS of options but that’s not really the point of the software, Don’t know much about their support so that’s not a lot I can say about that.

Horrible Overall Experiance

I wish 0 stars was an option. I rarely write anything negatively about any product. In this case I’m writing about this product as a warning to others in the remote support field. Teamviewer has the best customer service when they are selling you, but all of that goes out the window when you have any trouble. I was a customer of teamviewers paid remote support for years and can vouch for the decline of quality. Nifty UI is designed to hide what the company really is - a bunch of crooks. We have had a subscription for years and during that time other products with much better features, options, pricing, and service have come to light. While teamviewer software, features, pricing, business model and service have worsened. Months ago (maybe closer to a year) we finally were fed up with the high prices and lack of features, and terrible service. We the switch. Month pass and we failed to realize the renewal for teamviewer was coming up. For an office that receives 1000s of emails a day and a very large portion are junk, we missed the renewal notice. i admit our fault. We didn’t notice the renewal until the accounting department noticed a charge from teamviewer. The charge had only been made a few hours prior. We call teamvirwer, and we were not surprised by the answer we received when we ask to cancel the subscription and for a refund. The charge had only been made a few hours earlier (in the middle of the night around 2:45 a.m.) but we were told they will not refund the subscription fee. Their terms do not allow refunds unless you do certain things by certain time. We found this to be nuts. We were just charged for a product we have not used for months and will not use, and they refuse to refund. I find it crazy we have been charged for a product that have not use and will not use and cannot get the money back.

Shame on you teamviewer. You charged (took) the yearly subscription from us and we haven’t, will not, don’t want to use your services for another year. We will make sure to tell as many IT pros as we can about our experience.

What are the pros?

None. Much better alternatives out there with more functionality for the same price or less.

What are the cons?

Horrible software, customer service, bad overall experience.

Solid Remote Software

It’s a solid remote connection software. Meets our needs, except for the concurrent connections model they have. We have 2 employees and are bought licenses for 2 people, which does not include two people using it at the same time. Weird way to do it if you ask me, I get it for large support staff that can save on only needing certain concurrent users. But, for a 2 person shop, on the off chance that we both try to connect at the same time to support an employee, we can’t.

What are the pros?

Decent software, relatively easy to use for end-user staff.

What are the cons?

Concurrent licensing model.

Great for personal use

I’ve used TeamViewer for years for personal use. It’s worked just fine to connect to my home computer and has the features I need for a free product.
