So, 90’s was yesterday. I’m a little more up tempo today after getting home last and working on my sharp edge skills. (Kids, don’t play with knives. And if you want to learn, learn from a professional. Far less stitches and bleeding that way.)
Today… COVER SONGS! The song that was great, and then a band took it and added their own flare to it and made it different but as good. And seeing as I’m a bit of a cover junkie… figured I’d fish for some new ones!

I forgot about this song. Man that was a good one, not to dis MJ but this song might have surpassed the original.

Nice dude. I am not even going to lie but I am listening to rock/metal covers of Disney songs and Christopher Lee’s songs.

I love it when metal/hard rock bands do covers of crappy pop music and make them completely amazing. Not gonna lie A Static Lullaby’s cover of Brittney Spears’ song Toxic is pretty righteous. I would embed the video but I have yet to make it function properly. Some Tech I am, right. LOL

One, most certainly softer than mudvayne version, is by Alannis Morrisette, which is quite good. Hearing her brings me back to high school.
Judas Priest Diamonds and Rust, Green Manalishi,
Bruce Dickinson Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Metallica - Turn the Page
Jacob Moon - Rush’s Subdivision.
Way too many to list but I really do like covers as some are quite good. Some are just awful.

It’s not the Machine Head one… I think it was live. On Sirius/XM Liquid Metal station, they do a show called “corridor of covers” and it rules…

Not that anyone’s going to have heard of it, but Cristina Branco’s cover of “Alfonsina y el Mar” is so beautiful it brings me to tears. (Portuguese fado singer covering an Argentinian classic from the 20’s.)
In something somewhat more contemporary, Frank Zappa’s cover of “Whipping Post” is just awesome.
Oh, and the Jonathan Colton cover of “Baby Got Back”. That’s one of my karaoke staples.
