Does the US-24 model switch support POE or not. I dont necessarily need it managed. If not I will have to upgrade to the USW-24-POE switch.

All Unifi Switches are managed. but no the US-24 model is not a POE Switch. You would need to select one of the US-24 models that has a power rating on the end such as US-24-250W to get POE

For Example Switch 24 PoE (250W) - Ubiquiti Store United States

The Unifi switches include POE capability in the model name:

USW-24-POE has only 16 POE ports.
US-24-250W has 24 POE ports, up to 250 watts.
US-24-500W has 24 POE ports, up to 500 watts.

You really need to check the product description. They are adding new switches that will have Layer 3 capabilities with a later firmware upgrade.
