Since many community members have heard of and use Ubiquiti, I wanted to post this here. I got an e-mail about Unifi and AirMax training courses for certification this morning:

http://www.balticnetworks.com/ubiquiti-unifi-airmax-certified-admin-training-combo-pack.html .

Has anyone else seen these / thought about pursuing it? It’s likely not something I would pursue, but there are some whom it would likely benefit.

Thanks for throwing this out! Personally, I’ve usually limited my vendor-specific certs to the big names (MS, Cisco, etc.), which is not to imply anything about Ubiquiti, as I’ve heard mostly good things, but… I’ve never once worked with them or had an employer even consider them as an option.

Shame, really, as I do like what I’ve seen and heard, but for me this is likely only something I’d pursue if I knew a company I was working for/wanted to work for would require it.

I can see this being valuable if you are a reseller/installer of these products. I set these up in two different businesses. They work flawlessly and are easy mode setup.

They also offer a Unifi certification

Very interesting. I had no idea they offered training and certifications.

There’s a whole section right on Ubiquiti’s site: Ubiquiti - Training Courses

We use Ubiquiti UniFi in our office building, and it’s awesome.

That might be something to take a look at. I have used a lot of their equipment and like it. Looks like all training is face to face, and not around me, but may keep an eye on this.

I like the equipment and we’ve been deploying them for a couple years now, but that’s way TOO MUCH money for the certification class. That money would probably be better spent on a general wireless networking credential.

I wouldn’t pay more than maybe a couple hundred for such a short, product specific training class.

Thats my issue to, they never have a course anywhere near where I am located
