So i just received an email from my Manager that was sent out in the Information Distro (so basically everyone in our company gets this email), it pretty much says,
“Time change notice, All of our servers are set to handle the time change.”
What is this December 31st 1999?

LMAO. We were just discussing how “back in the old days” computers had issues with time zones. That is funny indeed.

Well when the time zone changes too effect in what, 2007? I remember having a LOT of problems then, especially with calendaring between remote offices etc. So I wouldn’t say we are THAT far removed from the issue but it is still worth a chuckle.

LOL. So true though. It sure is a sign of time times. I don’t even wear a watch anymore because I’m surrounded by computers all the time (smart phones, tablet, laptop, desktop - everywhere I go I have access to time.). I wonder what it would be like to go out into the wilderness with none of that. How would I fair???

Like this, from the error before grammar-sensitive spell checks.

I love Arizona. No DST for me.

The one issue we still have with the time change is with a product called Quark XPress. We have to update all links on all pages after a time change.

Contrary to what you might think, date problems are still quite real, even in this day and age. Microsofts Azure cloud was brought down on leap day because of an issue with certificate dates. So, I think its just a bit too early to scoff, just yet.

Must be nice to get to be on Sonora time
You could have fooled me. I thought that was intentional.

I miss living in AZ for just that reason! Well, other reasons too, but at the current moment, that one.

Our old phone system and a server here both have twice the difficulty of time changes than they ever did. if they had kept the time change at the same time, we’d be great. However, both are way past the point of software updates to correct that date.
Oh well. I’ll set them Monday morning, then again whenever the old time change was.
When I worked for the Tarrant County Hospital District one of the data bases I supported had to be manually reset twice a year.
Guess we’re doing the time-warp again!
