I’ve tried uninstalling SW, restarting the service, installing over my v5 instance, and I cannot get SW to load.

I click on the desktop icon, it opens the webpage, and it gets stuck at the splash screen where it says “Spiceworks is Starting…” “Please give us a few minutes…”

Any thoughts about what I’m missing?

Please uninstall the beta and reinstall 5.3 as your production system.

There are still some bugs in 6.0 and there have been a number of people having to start over from an old backup because the beta corrupted their database.

That said check to see if there is a spiceworks process running on the system.

Ive had this same issue. I was however able to pull it up the in web browser (localhost:port) and it came up. Havent had time to address it further to see whats up.

production* logs are helpful in this case.

@Jryandrum I was able to do something similar, i actually just clicked on “Dashboard” from this page, it asked me to log in, and then it loaded v6 beta 4 no problem. We’ll see how it goes from here.

Joe,

For myself, its not a consistent issue. I can hit the Spiceworks Icon (or launch from the icon tab) and it will bring up the starting page and go no further. But then after a short period, doing the same action launches the start page and it goes through.

The image shows 3 tabs not launching and then the 4th pulling right up. Restarting the service and such didn’t seem to change the out come. Ill be messing with 6.0 a little before I pull back to 5.3 as Bernard mentioned.

Good to know, thanks.

I have the beta on a VM so I am going to keep testing it and hopefully find some sort of pattern or something…we’ll see

Thanks,

Joe
