Backup fails nearly instantly with “Failed to create disk metadata file. Unitrends agent failed to backup disk environment metadata. Terminating a backup. ****> ERROR: 1 File not backed up. For more information, review backup catalog file.”.<\/p>\n
Unitrends version is 10.1.0-2.201712141700.CentOS6.<\/p>\n

I don’t know what happened, but I just started the backup job and it worked. Possibly it was giving full access to C:\\PCBP\\ and its contents for CREATOR OWNER what helped.<\/p>\n

Anton - I’m sorry to hear that you’re having these issues. Can you tell me a bit more about your installation? What edition of Unitrends are you using (free, standard, etc)? What version of our software are you using? Anton - Thank you for these details. Unfortunately, Unitrends Free is not application aware, so without reviewing the backup catalog file as the appliance’s error message directed you to, I’m going to assume that this is the issue. To be sure, can you share the backup catalog file?<\/p>\n
Storing your backup copies on the same appliance creates a single point of failure. The purpose of backup copies is to allow you to restore in the event of a disaster.
