Hi all,
I running Unirends EB as a Hyper-V machine, licensed as NFR. Currently I’m (trying) to backup 3 VMs from 1 host & 1 physical server (file & applications, nothing special).
The problem is that the VMs are backing up without any problem, but the file server runs for around 2 hours, transfers ~10GB of data & then bugs out. Any ideas?
So far I’ve:
Recreated the Unitrends EB (several times)
Installed the agent in various ways
Tried backing up as part of a schedule
Tried a 1-time backup
Rebuilt the server (was planned anyway)
The VM hosts are running Hyper-V Server 2012. The 3 VMs are 2x Server 2012 Standard Core & 1x pfSense firewall. The physical file server is running Server 2012 Standard Full.
Thanks!

Robert - It’s very odd that the backups are failing on only one client, but working on the rest. Support is included in the NFR edition, so I would contact them to help you trouble-shoot the issue. You can reach them toll free from South Africa at +1.855.593.2861, by email at support@Unitrends.com, or via chat on our website. Please let me know if they are not able to resolve this for you.

On the jobs that fail, can you post some of the date from the ‘Raw Output’ section, this may help us narrow it down some. If you don’t want to post it you can message it directly to Jaguar or I and we will see what we can do. Your best bet though would be to contact support as Katie suggested, they can always call you back if needed. The support chat would probably work well for you given the time difference.

Further confirmation Unitrends rocks - just got off the line with a support engineer (ironically also called Robert
The suggestions seem to have worked so I’ve left the job running & will post back tomorrow (it’s 20:50 here).
Thanks folks.

Still fighting with it. It just doesn’t like my file server. Still trying to figure it out with the support tech. Thanks for asking.
