This recently started happening but NONE of my automatic backups are working on a file level. The VM ones do work perfectly. I suspect i need to update the unitrends device but apparently you cannot do that without a support contract. My sales rep won’t reply to me on quotes for renewal or support woes.

The failed incrementals wont even report a log it’s just:

Failed to queue: The autosynthesis daemon must be running to perform incremental backups.

(the daemon is already running)

But if i manually make a Now job to increment these backups, everything works fine? This is extremely frustrating.

Is there anything i can do to repair this before i just scrap it?

Kyle - I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. First, can you tell me what version of Unitrends you’re on, as well as what edition (Free, Enterprise, etc) you’re using? Also, is this a global issue, or isolated to a few clients? Is there an agent on any of the clients that are impacted? If so, what version of the agent are you running?

I recently found out our cloud subscription wasn’t active so i disabled it, I also ssh’d into the box and start autosynth as i found in a KB from Unitrends and that seemed to fix my incrementals for the moment. I’ve been battling this issue for weeks but it seems to be working for now.

I’m glad that that KB article helped. Since you’ve had a cloud account, I assume that you are not using Unitrends Free, which means that you’ve got a paid support contract. If that’s the case, and you continue to have these issues, I’d reach out to support ASAP.
