Hello everyone can you please help i just added my warehouse network to spiceworks and its coming up with unknown device some machines are windows 2000 and some xp. If the PCs in the warehouse are not in the domain as you say and IPs are issued by DHCP and the DNS server has been secured, then the PCs in the warehouse will not have DNS entried made for them since they will not comply with the AD authorised DNS entry criteria. This will seriously effect the ability to resolve names for the PCs in the Warehouse.<\/p>\n
In addition you will need to use an account with local admin rights on thise non-AD PCs for scan to work and set them up specifically for this local admin users for the scan.<\/p>\n
Have a look at this: Adding Devices<\/strong> and Changing Login Accounts<\/a><\/p>\n You will also be able to go to the scan error page of each of those inventory items and edit the account details used for scanning from there.
