Upcoming Meeting

HI All,

We are bit overdue for our next meeting so I’d like to start pulling one together. This will be the first SpiceCorps meeting since I become the nominal herder of this group so I’m flexible as to the when and where. I’d be happy to host it at my office on Lake Union in downtown Seattle (great views, but the parking ain’t so great) or an alternate location. At the last meeting, someone said that we should have a meeting further south which I am open to as well. In regards to a meeting sponsor, SmartDeploy is interested in providing some tasty food and beverages which means we get to hear about their OS and application imaging and deployment solutions.

I’m hoping to hear from the members of this group to see if Lake Union would work as a location for the meeting or if they have an alternate location in mind. Also would like to see if there any any dates that may or may not work. As well as any general topics or items you would like to see covered in the meeting. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Lake Union sounds great to me. I also may be able to swing something down at our office in Georgetown if that works better for most people. I haven’t attended a meeting before, how many Seattle Spiceheads typically attend? Is there a format or agenda that you’ve followed in past meetings?

I’d be willing to attend, but I’m a lot further north, and it’d have to be a bit closer up here before I’d be able to attend on a weeknight. (Bothell/Kirkland Area)

Count me in. I missed the last meeting unfortunately. I can don’t mind doing South Lake Union though. I work in Bellevue so if anyone on the East side want’s to carpool. I’d be happy to meet up. I should have 2 other open seats since I’m trying to get one of the other guys here to come with too. I’ll let you guys know.

I’m the slacker that is trying to put together a meeting. Anyone have a good idea for a venue? I do have a sponsor or two lined up, but I don’t have a good place to host the meeting as of yet.

Did this meeting ever happen? If not let’s make it happen. Spiceworks 7 is out and we need to get up on the latest. Lake union is fine. I’m in Bellevue and wouldn’t mind doing it there if anybody else prefers Bellevue. I can provide a meeting space at my office in downtown Bellevue. Otherwise lake union is fine.

I agree. I must have missed a couple meetings so I’m due.

My office is on the Eastside in Bellevue as well, and would prefer the eastside but I’d go anywhere. We can also accommodate a fairly large group in our large meeting area if needed.

Hi guys. So I’m the new Spicecorps Seattle group leader. I’ll be looking things over this weekend and coming up with a plan. What day/times work best for everyone. And I’m definitely thinking Eastside since that’s where I’m located. Any heartache over that?

Okay all. So here’s what I’ve got. I’m looking at Friday November 1 or Wednesday November 6 at a location in Bellevue TBD. This will be right after SpiceWorld 2013 so any attendees (I’m going to Austin. Anyone else?) can share their experience. I have two locations in mind. Just need to confirm availability which I’ll do tomorrow.

Any ideas, suggestions or issues regarding date/location or anything else?

I’m good for either day.

Unfortunately I won’t be making it to SpiceWorld this year so I look forward to hearing about it from those that do go.

I can also offer up our office for the event. MulvannyG2 Architecture is located in Bellevue as well. We’re on the corner of 112th & 12th. The only downside is that the building charges for parking and there’s not much street parking around but you may be able to find some. Mat, send me a message if you have any questions of my location.

It will definitely be happening. We’ll be doing at least 1 per quarter. Glad to see some people showing interest though. Just hold tight a little longer and we’ll get this thing off the ground.

I wasn’t able to confirm our location today but I should hear back by tomorrow.

John, I will definitely take you up on your location next meeting. Probably in January.
