Why This Happens
The Installer Service is typically updated automatically by the Backup Server during upgrades.
If the Installer Service is manually updated or if a managed server is updated ahead of the Backup Server, a version mismatch occurs.
Veeam does not support having different versions of core components (including the Installer Service) between servers.
Resolution
To resolve the incompatibility, you must align the versions of both the Backup Server and the Installer Service. You have two supported options:
1. Upgrade the Backup Server to Match the Installer Service
Since your Installer Service is on 12.3.2.3617, upgrade your Backup Server to the same version:
Download the Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.2.3617 ISO from the official Veeam site.
Follow the upgrade checklist provided by Veeam to ensure a smooth update.
After upgrading, verify that all managed servers and services are at version 12.3.2.3617.
2. Downgrade the Installer Service to Match the Backup Server
If you cannot upgrade the Backup Server, you must reinstall the Installer Service at version 12.3.1.1139:
Uninstall the current Installer Service from the affected managed servers.
Redeploy the Installer Service using the package from your 12.3.1.1139 installation media.
Ensure all components are now at version 12.3.1.1139.
Note: Downgrading the Installer Service will disrupt jobs and connectivity to the managed server during the process.
