We have a Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN-12886A PS for some months now. It has a nice feature where you put documents on the top feeder and it automatically scans them to a pdf file in a usb thumb drive.

So our finance manager said “The documents, appears to have a small angle inside the pdf.Can you do something with the rollers or call a technician?”

Its a brand new machine, scanning via rollers.it could be the rollers the paper or whatever.

We’ve had this problem. Sometimes the adjustable paper guides in the feeder are not tight enough to the paper, allowing the paper to feed a little crooked. Other times it’s been the rollers in the feeders needing replacement or adjustment. A tech should be able to fix it if it’s not the paper guide issue.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

Thanks Bob I spoke with this with my manager(the guy that made the “complaint”) and he was ok with it.Especially when i assured him that if this escaltes to an actuall problem i would call a Xerox tech guy in to take a look.

Thank a lot for the help A possible workaround: for one page, place it on the glass. For two or three, maybe the user can do a “job build,” where you can scan each page at a time and end up with one PDF. I understand that for more than a few pages, this would be cumbersome.

If the scanner is on the network, maybe it can be set up to scan directly to a folder on the user’s PC, or on a server, and bypass the USB drive altogether.

{"@type":"Person
johnreavis2010
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/johnreavis2010"}},{"@type":"Answer
One thing you could try is opening up the ADF and using a normal (pencil) eraser - preferably white, rub clean the rollers that pull the paper into the unit. Sometimes toner, dirt etc. clings to the roller (it is supposed to be slightly coarse rubber) and makes the roller smooth, causing the page to slip. The eraser ‘revitalises’ the roller (temporarily) but at least you start getting the pages clean again.

I’d do the same for the rollers in the standard paper trays as well.

If things get progressively worse, you can get a maintenance kit for the MFP in which you remove the rollers and replace them with news ones (also filters for the printer itself, etc.).

Not sure what part numbers you need, but whoever sold you the MFP should be able to supply these accessories.

@Bob would you know if you have a maintenance kit for this model MFP? The 10th time, there is actually something wrong with rollers or the machine. That being said, these are mechanical, and even with a new machine, new rollers, and tight paper guides, there can be skew.

{"@type":"Person
dzee
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/dzee"}},{"@type":"Answer
Glad you got things worked out. I worked with a guy who had carpentry training and he could identify divergence from ‘true’ around .5% rotation, and he was frequently correct. Maybe praise him for his super-human perception then explain that the machine is well within a reasonable tolerance and most readers won’t notice or think twice of it.

If perfection is required, is the electronic document available to print to PDF?

Yes a support guy did contact me yesterday saying that its probably the paper guides.
