1 Spice up
Someone I can respect, I don’t necessarily have to like them, but if the respect is there, it’s a lot easier to do what needs to be done.
3 Spice ups
Vision, direction, drive.
Give me a vision, direction to work in and drive to see it through, and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen.

Leadership IT isn’t so much about the tech. It is about people and how you work with them.
-
Thick skin - To deal with people that are difficult. Face it, we all have to deal with difficult people and situations. Not letting one upset person or incident totally get you off balance and lose focus. Keep an even keel. Being the buffer for your team, to take the lumps, speaks volumes.
-
The ability to handle what I call “the uncomfortable conversations.” Conversations on correcting people when they are wrong, knowing that the leader may be wrong and admit it, and to also know how to handle themselves in stressful situations with direct reports or with upper management.
-
Clarity - Being clear in communication is essential. If your team doesn’t know what the goals are, what problems to address, and what is expected of them, that hurts the team.

I could not say it an better.
Honestly,
where I am at it is complicated, things are not what they seem and I get discouraged and most of the time I am all by myself with no good advice or mentor
to me here is my ideal leader:
- a teacher
- someone who is beside you taking on challenges and leads you
- gives good advice
- helps whether it is irrelevant or not (also helps me learn from it)
- someone who motivates you
these are some of the things I look for in a leader
sadly, no one is there for me, so I have to do things myself, which also motivates me that I can make things happen if I can set my mind to it and never wait up for anyone.
