25M x 3M means you can theoretically download at 25 Mbps (megabits per second) and upload at 3 Mbps.

6M x 1M is 6Mbps download and 1Mbps upload.

There is overhead and such that means you will likely see 22Mbps x 1.5Mbps if you run a speed test.

Also consider that cable is usually providing you with a shared line which means if others close by on the same service are streaming video, your speeds will suffer. Cable companies give you the Maximum speed their service can provide.

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) means that you are the only customer on that line, so in theory the speeds should be more consistent.

Read the post linked to above, but if I understand your question right, the cable 25M x 3M means that the asynchronous cable connection speeds are 25 megabits per second (Mbps) download (coming into your building) and 3 Mbps going out of your building. The DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) connection speeds are 6 Mbps in and 1 Mbps out. This asynchronous speed scheme is extremely common for lower-end Internet connections (home / consumer / small business level). The logic behind it is that the customers will be downloading (receiving in) far more data than they will be uploading (sending out).

DSL actually stands for digital subscriber line.

I would take the cable connection. Even though it may be shared, you will see faster speeds with that then the DSL connection.

Steven Hoag has answered this question well. I would add, use this website to test your actual speeds:

Also available as a nice app on Android and Apple devices. It can be used to test WiFi speed or cellular data (turn off wifi before test)

First and foremost I would to extend my token of appreciation from everyone, and how first you responded. To Chris75 I will probably be keeping both since the DSL is going to be dedicated to my VOIP. Again Thank you all. I having a feeling am going to love spice works!!!
