Hey all, a question we sometimes get is what is a Spiceworks Partner? A Spiceworks Partner is our term for a brand representative within the Spiceworks Community. It is an individual who has been approved by their organization to engage throughout Spiceworks on their behalf. We have some great examples of brand representatives who’ve been a part of the Community for a long time, including the following who have won our Spicies Awards over the years such as Stu (KnowBe4), Kim@SOPHOS, Katie (Unitrends), and Priscilla@HP.

Can I just engage in the Community about my brand without being a Partner?

While we allow IT professionals to share helpful information and recommendations with one another in the community, we require that a user be a Spiceworks Partner to represent a product or service for their company. This way our members know that they are actually talking to someone approved to be a spokesperson for their brand and not someone who may not even work for the company in question and may be posing as someone they are not.

What is the difference between a Partner and a Marketer?

UPDATED: March 15th, 2024

A Partner can engage throughout all the public areas within the Community where as a Marketer can only be used as a “listening” tool that allows vendors to see what’s being discussed around their brand, products, and industry. Essentially a Partner is someone who’s approved to engage throughout the Community on behalf of that brand. More details here.

How can I become a Spiceworks Partner?

If your company is already engaged in Spiceworks, you may just want to talk to your marketing team about promoting you to be a verified Partner.

Sean - Thanks for this update on the different options available to vendors. Spiceworks is only as awesome as the sum of its parts, and that includes rock star partners & marketers. Would it be amazing if I was the only GG allowed to post? Sort of, but then Spiceworks wouldn’t be that interesting to the IT Pros, which defeats the purpose. Also, without Spiceworks, I’d never get to interact with tech marketers outside of my company and form friendships with many of the people that have already been tagged in this post, plus others like @francis-spiceworks , Emily (Spiceworks), and many more.
