“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. … There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.” - Robert Jordan
Looks like the time has finally come for the live adaptation to find a home. I hope they do the books justice.

I remember hearing this a bit back.
Those books are going to require some HEAVY editing to stay interesting from a visual medium standpoint. I LOVE the series but it is wordy as all hell…
At least it won’t be legend of the seeker cheesy…

Depending on how closely they follow the books, all of the ladies are going to go through a crap ton of wardrobe changes for scenes for the world of dreams (can’t spell it and not going to try to).

This is amazing; I also remember hearing about it a little while back.
WoT was the first fantasy series I ever read, even before LoTR, and ever since then fantasy has been my absolute favorite genre for reading.
I also hope they do the books justice. There’s so much to the series, I wonder how they’ll fit it all in without cutting out key part and components.

Please don’t let them screw it up like they did with The Sword of Truth.

This series has been on my “to read” list for a while now.
Not usually a fan of book adaptations because of what needs to be cut or changed for the screen but depending on fan reception, I may watch before I read.

Legend of the Seeker was soooooooooooooooo bad. Please, God, please, don’t let this be another travesty like that was.
For anyone looking for another good read, The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind was a pretty solid read. The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson is incredible. Yes, the Brandon Sanderson who finished Wheel of Time after Robert Jordan passed.

I did all of them via audiobook. That was several months worth of commuting that was made easier to bear.

I agree that Legend of the Seeker was an atrocious adaptation of The Sword of Truth series. I also wasn’t a fan of the adaptation they did for the Shannara series. Another series that I would like to see on the big screen are The Belgariad and The Malloreon series by David Eddings. The Runelords series by David Farland would also be cool to see.

I also really enjoy the belgariad and the mallorean by the Eddings. Really cool world they’ve made, and they released two other books going really-in-depth in the history of the world.

Part of me is ecstatic about this and another part is terrified. I’ve wished for a live-action television adaptation of the WoT for years, but I am not sure how well it’s going to translate to the screen. So much of the series, including some very important pieces, take place within the minds of the characters. So much is based on what they’re thinking and feeling. I want this, but I also think it’s going to be really hard to do justice to it.

Me too. I’m on the same book as well.

The Belgariad is my all time favorite fantasy series. I’ve read it many times.
