I got handed this one, Old IT company did not give up their password before we changed over so we had to just change it, now when trying to get into Veeam the service will not start, when I try to start the service I get: Windows could not start the Veeam Backup Service service on the local computer. Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure.

I had to change the password and do not have the old password, I just need to know where to enter the new password. I cannot open up Veeam Enterprise manager either because it gives the same error.

I don’t have this in front of me, but…

You should be able to look at properties for the Veeam service and see what account it is using to authorize itself. It could be a local account or a domain account. (I use a domain account.) Then, with admin creds, you should be able to reset the password on that account (if needed) and change the logon in the services.

I agree, change it in services.msc. We use Acronis and just checked, the service uses a domain admin account. I believe this is because it authenticates to the storage mode with the same credentials.

As others have noted change the credentials to the Veeam service on services.msc and make sure you can
Start it after the login changes.
