Dear Everyone

my X1 interface on my Fortigate doesnt seem to work , currently I do have this plugged into my unifi switch and doesnt light up , if I use any other port on the fortigate it works, any advise how I can test the X1 interface before I conclude its the actual port that is faulty.

3 Spice ups

maybe it’s something simple, like it just needs to be enabled?

via cli:

config system interface
edit x1
set fortilink enable
end

If you have no other switch to test with, Connect it directly to a PC/laptop etc to see if you get a link.

As @shuntersimpson suggests, start by looking at the config file

This will give you all the config details about X1. Do the same for X2 and now you have something to compare against. I am very sure you will find something is set on X1 differently from X2.

@matt7863 has the good advice of testing X1 by connecting a different device. While you’re testing against different equipment, confirm that your Unifi switch works on its port -the issue might be on that side.

Thank you Guys , I will try this and let you know

I discovered today that Unifi 1GB SFP wants to only connect to Fortigate 1GB SFP, which is the port 17, check if X1 is 10GB.

As soon they connected to the 1GB, it sprung into life.

Helping friend out at their company today.

Fortigate 200F
Unifi USW Enterprise 48 PoE

Hope this helps.
