Spiceworks says all my XP SP2 workstations are all unreachable or firewalled but they are not either. I’m using version 1.5 and have a newly installed XP SP2 box with no other software. Disable XP firewall, I can connect via the lan to the workstation and share files with other workstations but Spiceworks can’t connect. Spiceworks sees the correctr ip address.
The error message is: Test Failed: check account, password or WMI configuration. I know the account and password are correct so how do I check the WMI configuration?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Greetings.
Would you humor me here and run the following from one of the machines you are not able to connect to via SpiceWorks?
(Start | Run…)
netsh firewall set service REMOTEADMIN enable
Then retry the test.
If it still fails here is some reading for you:

Please let us know what you find by posting back into this thread.
Sorry if this is a little obvious but is WMI install on the new build, it’s not by default!
Steve
WMI is part of all business Windows installs.
