Hi,

I have a number of machines with perfectly valid account/password combo’s that will reply to WMIC scans perfectly from a command prompt, I can log onto then locally as the user account ok but spiceworks gives a host unreachable or firewalled error. Any clues as to where to look next?

P.S.

Windows firewall is dissabled.

I suggest to follow #1 and #2 of this how-to: Troubleshooting Spiceworks Inventory Inconsistencies - Spiceworks … and set scan speed to slow.

If this doesn`t help, download this script: Resolving Spiceworks Unknowns Unofficial - Script Center … Modify it by delete/comment out lines 36 - 38 and store it local at the affected machines. Then run this modified script with admin rights. Reboot the machines and then rescan them.

We recommend making the Windows Firewall allow remote administration compared to disabling it.

Try the netsh commands and see if you can get your systems to respond like we are looking for.

Are you seeing any other issues like DNS related to these problem devices?
