Howdy y’all. I was just wondering what is going on with the non CM side of things? It seems like, other than the CMs, the level of interaction has dropped off from Spiceworkers. I realize we’re just on the other side of a major US holiday, but the last post from a non CM was one from @matt-l-sw almost 3 weeks ago. Are there plans in place to continue on the engagement flurry that occurred after SWL?

Engagement in what in particular?

I’m guessing Sosi means in the Community.

And in this group in particular, presumably.

I think its a combination of a few things. But first, just to be clear, you’re talking about within this group specifically, correct? Part of that is because we have some overlap in here with the Products Blog:

https://community.spiceworks.com/blogs/products

For example, @andrew just had a new one in there about badges last week.

Also, at this time, we’re don’t have a ton of new features coming out. Sure there are badges and the upcoming User Groups, but there is a lot of maintenance going on and we’re abusing the dev team to get some more behind-the-scenes features such as combatting spammers.

This group has a new topic at least once every few weeks, though, so there is something always going on. Sure there will be ebbs and flows, but this group is still moving forward.

P.S. And to be fair, it’s hard to compare against CMs… I mean, between us and Support, we’re a pretty chatty group.

@jakedluhy just joined the Community Dev Team and is actually working on the IE11 image upload issue you reported right now! Plus some various other text editor bugs that have popped up recently. Not really something that needs feedback in this group. :stuck_out_tongue:

seeing “OG” always makes me think of this song:

I did mean in this group specifically. My question stems a lot from a phone call I had with Tabrez. When we were able to talk one on one I learned a lot of things about the why’s of some of the different projects, the changes to Groups being the most notable. Knowing these why’s at the time would have changed 90% of the discussion around the proposed changes. My concern is that without a continued dialog regarding what is going on behind the scenes we could have another situation come up like that, and I don’t think anyone wants another brouhaha like that

I’m not wanting a status report, or to somehow imply that SW is answerable to me or the community necessarily. I just don’t want to see old patterns reassert themselves. Hence why I poked that anthill.

Definitely understandable. At this point in time, though, I don’t think we have anything new to talk about. The only major (front facing) changes we have are the User Groups and Badges. Most everything else has been maintenance, bug fixes, and moderator/admin features. For example, you’ll see tod… err, our next update is pretty much just fixes and badges.

Once we get to a point where we are more than just contemplating something, we’ll make sure that topic gets in here. @david-bass has been working hard with community dev and other sections to ensure this.
