No.

This is an occasional user, and had not logged into Network Monitor before this issue. He did have a password in Spiceworks before SW updated to this new password management method. Our Network Monitor service is running on a different Virtual Machine than our Spiceworks install. Does Network Monitor just talk to the SW mothership for password authentication, or does it try to talk to the local SW install?

{"@type":"Person
johnclarke
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/johnclarke"}},{"@type":"Answer

All authentication goes through the community now. Have you invited the user using the UI on the settings page, or is the user just trying to log in using their credentials?

{"@type":"Person
timgittos-spiceworks
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/timgittos-spiceworks"}},{"@type":"Answer

We went through the UI on the Settings page in Spiceworks. He got the email Change of Password link and changed his password. He can now log into Spiceworks and into the Community web site. It is just Network Monitor that wont let him log in.

{"@type":"Person
johnclarke
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/johnclarke"}},{"@type":"Answer

Ahhh… I did not realize the Add User process was different from Spiceworks. That solved the problem, with some issues. I sent the user an invite from Network Monitor. When he clicked on the link, it took him to the log in screen. This time around, it did not like the password he already had set with the Community, and he had to choose a new one. When trying the previous password, he got an error saying Email address Already Taken.

He is all set now.

{"@type":"Person
johnclarke
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/johnclarke"}},{"@type":"Answer

That still sounds like a bug. I’ll log something and make sure we play nice with community password changes.

{"@type":"Person
timgittos-spiceworks
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/timgittos-spiceworks"}}]}}
