Well, I am officially leaving my job. I got offered an IT Consultant job with a fairly nearby company for work in my area. I will be their Tier 3 support consultant. They don’t quite have enough work for where I live to have me in the valley 100% yet, but they are working on getting more business up here, and with the increase in businesses building up here they may get it soon.
I will leave after being with my current company for just barely shy of 3 years. I was the sole IT person for the company, where they only needed a part time IT person and a part time Developer really. I was able to do the job, but I don’t enjoy the programming side nearly as much as the Server side. I am not sure what the future really has in store for me, but with a good group to rely on for help, rather than just myself and the Google, should be good for me in the long run as well. This will be a more challenging job with more opportunities to learn new things.
Hopefully I won’t just drop off the face of the earth from here, because this place is fun. I may no longer be using Spiceworks as a product, but this community is great for other things.
All that is left to say is, “So long, and thanks for all the fish!”

Congrats on your new role! Hopefully, you will work alongside like-minded people. It’s important when you work in a team. Still, you can always rely on online IT communities like SW for general advice, sanity checks, to share ideas and experience etc.
Congratulations on the new role.

Awesome news and Good luck with your new job. Just remember the IT mantra.
“Have you tried turning off and back on again?”
Or my modified one I like to use.
“I tell you what. Try turning it off and back on again and if the problem persists call me back.”
