Abstract: A ring design machine receives one or more selections of gemstones and one or more selections of settings and allows a user to “mix and match” gemstones and settings and view a selected gemstone in a compatible setting for that gemstone. To present the gemstone in the setting, the ring design machine presents a combination image that depicts the gemstone in the setting. The ring design machine, which may be implemented using a computer programmed by software, may present the combination image to the user in response to receiving a selection of the gemstone and a selection of the setting from the user via a network.

Abstract: Techniques are shown for key management using a traceable key block-chain ledger involving creating a cryptographic key at a key source, generating a genesis block for a key block-chain ledger corresponding to the cryptographic key, and securely modifying the genesis block to include metadata describing the key source. The techniques also involve performing a first key transaction with the cryptographic key, generating a first transaction block corresponding to the first key transaction with the cryptographic key and adding the first transaction block to the key block-chain ledger, and securely modifying the first transaction block to include metadata describing the first key transaction with the cryptographic key.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for determining a duration of time required to render a web page or other content displayed by a native application running on a user device. One embodiment captures screenshots of the application's displayed output on a user device as video frames, and determines when the displayed output image content stabilizes. Another embodiment measures the number of service calls from a mobile client machine and the data requested and/or sent in response to such calls to determine native application performance. In another embodiment, a configuration file updates application executables and runs batch content rendering performance tests. Embodiments timestamp and store test results for subsequent visual depiction, evaluation, and analysis by developer teams and/or users. Performance variations due to changes to a native application or content may be routed to a particular application developer or content designer for possible correction and improvement.

Abstract: Example embodiments described herein disclose a device configured to generate and cause display of a rotary input interface within a display of the device. The rotary input interface may be displayed as one or more dial types, including at least a continuous rotary dial, a horseshoe dial, or a continuous scroll wheel, configured to include an arrangement of values at positions along the rotary input interface. The rotary input interface also include a central display configured to indicate a selected value (e.g., from among the arrangement of values) based on a location of a value indicator among the arrangement of values.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying whether data skew is causing delays in a map phase and/or a reduce phase of a query of a distributed database. The system and method identify the values of various metrics relating to a database query. These metrics include map phase and reduce phase durations and various related metrics. The system and method gather statistics of multiple queries to determine correlation levels between the metrics and the map phase and reduce phase durations. Based on the statistics, the system and method determine whether one or both of the map and reduce phases for a query/response are taking longer than expected. If the durations are longer than expected, the system identifies the delay as caused by data skew and informs the originator of the query.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for displaying a location of an item in a user interface. Some aspects include processing circuitry and hardware memory storing instructions that when executed cause the processing circuitry to perform operations. The operations may include receiving input defining an image of an item, receiving input indicating an instruction to search a plurality of sensor data for the item, each sensor data generated by a corresponding imaging sensor and including a corresponding image, and displaying a location of the item in a user interface, the location corresponding to a location of one of the imaging sensors generating a corresponding image representing the item.

Abstract: Systems and methods for passive dynamic geofencing on a mobile device are discussed. For example, a method for passive dynamic geofencing can include operations such as monitoring a first parent geofence and a first plurality of child geofences; detecting crossing a boundary of the first parent geofence into a second parent geofence; loading the second parent geofence and a second plurality of child geofences encompassed by the second parent geofence; and monitoring the second parent geofence and the second plurality of child geofences.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure include a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing a recommendation based on a level of buying intent of an individual. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include monitoring an amount of time an individual wears a particular item while in a fitting room of a retail store, and determining an interest level of the individual in purchasing the item based on the amount of time the individual wears the item. The method may further include generating and providing a recommendation for an additional based on the determined level of intent.

Abstract: A method and system to automatically categorize a merchant listing in an electronic marketplace are provided. The method includes parsing the category information submitted by a seller to derive a first category identifier. A first search is performed to locate the first category identifier in a first database containing a listing of category identifiers. If no match is found, the first category identifier is identified as expired or invalid. A second search is performed on a second database that includes mapping information of an expired category identifier to a new category identifier. If a match is found, the first category identifier is assigned as the new category identifier, thereby enabling the listing to be listed in the updated category automatically.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for intervehicle communication involving notification messages sent from one vehicle to another vehicle. Sensor event data from one vehicle can be sent in a wireless message to another vehicle and information from the wireless message displayed to a driver of the other vehicle providing the driver with information that may not be detectable by the sensors in the driver's vehicle. Inquiries or requests can also be sent from one vehicle to another vehicle. User interfaces can include graphical user interfaces, haptic devices and audio devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for a network address management system for generating consistent network addresses to computing resources and for developing applications that are resilient to changes in the network addresses to those resources. In an embodiment, a consumer application executing on a computing system can receive a network address schema for a provider application via a library. The library may include a function for constructing a network address to the provider application. The consumer application can invoke the function to begin building the network address. The computing system/library extract context information at the time the consumer application invokes the build function, augment the context information using a selected application namespace (e.g., network address patterns and rules), and generate the network address using the augmented context information, patterns, and rules.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and computer storage media for implementing a nuanced-color search and recommendation system. Employing various techniques described herein, an improved search engine for categorizable items is provided to generate accurate color-based search results and recommendations that are relevant to a nuanced color provided as a search parameter. In various implementations, digital assets that depict categorizable items can be analyzed to characterize the depicted items with, among other things, a particular shade of a determined dominant color. In this way, categorizable items can be searched based at least in part on a selected shade of a particular dominant color to generate a primary search result. In further embodiments, other categorizable items can be generated as recommendations based on characteristics of the primary search result.

Abstract: Understanding emojis in the context of online experiences is described. In at least some embodiments, text input is received and a vector representation of the text input is computed. Based on the vector representation, one or more emojis that correspond to the vector representation of the text input are ascertained and a response is formulated that includes at least one of the one or more emojis. In other embodiments, input from a client machine is received. The input includes at least one emoji. A computed vector representation of the emoji is used to look for vector representations of words or phrases that are close to the computed vector representation of the emoji. At least one of the words or phrases is selected and at least one task is performed using the selected word(s) or phrase(s).

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide status indictors on an image galley is disclosed. At least one item to be displayed in an image gallery on a client device is identified. Once identified, status information for the item is obtained. Subsequently, gallery rendering and display instructions are generated and transmitted to the client device. The rendering and display instructions include the status information and enables generation of status indicators from the status information for display over the image gallery at the client device. The rendering and display instructions may also include instructions for displaying the image gallery. The status information at the client device may be updated as status information changes.

Abstract: Dynamic link preview generation techniques are described that overcome the challenges of conventional techniques by supporting link preview generation by a content provider system that proves the digital content via a respective network address. In one example, a content provider system, based on a request received from a service provider system, identifies a communication platform of the service provider system that is to be used to communicate the shared link. Upon identifying the communication platform, the content provider system locates customization data that describes how the link preview is to be generated for the communication platform. In response, the content provider system renders digital content available via the network address to generate the link preview.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for accessing a plurality of inventory item listings accessible over a network, wherein each of the plurality of inventory item listings includes one or more text strings, and creating inventory word vectors for at least some of the text strings of the plurality of inventory item listings. The systems and methods further provide for receiving a user input including an input word, wherein the user input is input by a user to access a primary media content, creating an input word vector for the input word, calculating cosine similarities between the input word vector and the inventory word vectors, and analyzing the calculated cosine similarities to determine one or more keywords from the one or more text strings, wherein the one or more keywords are from the text strings having inventory word vectors with the highest cosine similarities to the input word vector.

Abstract: Systems and methods to provide a navigated-shopping service are discussed. In an example, a method for navigated-shopping can include receiving a destination location, accessing a route to the destination, displaying the route with indications of a plurality of items for purchase, receiving selection of a selected item, and purchasing the selected item. The plurality of items for purchase can be within a predefined distance of at least one point along the route. The selection of the selected item can include selection of a retail location of a plurality of retail locations along the route.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for updating stored item data using a remote computing system are presented. In example embodiments, a first user selection of a representation of an item accessible from a first remote computing system is received at a client device while the client device is in electronic communication with the first remote computing system via a network. Based on the first user selection, first item data describing the selected item is retrieved from the first remote computing system via the network, and the first item data is stored in a data storage system residing on the client device. After the storing of the first item data, second item data for the selected item is retrieved from a second remote computing system via the network, and the stored first item data is updated based on at least a portion of the retrieved second item data.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for displaying additional information corresponding to an item represented by a visual indicator in response to a mouseover event is disclosed. Various embodiments receive a mouseover event corresponding to a visual indicator displayed on a display screen and generate additional information corresponding to an item represented by the visual indicator in response to the mouseover event, the additional information being obtained from various databases and used to generate additional information corresponding to the item.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for an availability oriented durability technique for distributed server systems. A server that is an entry point for a message processing stream receives a message from a client device, and in response, generating a unique identifier for the message, and adds an entry in a transaction log that including the message and the unique identifier for the message. The server appends the unique identifier to the message, and transmits the message to a second server positioned downstream from the server in the message processing stream. If the server determines that the message has not been processed through the message processing stream, the server accesses the message from the transaction log, appends the unique identifier to the first message, and re-transmitting the message to the second server positioned downstream from the server in the message processing stream.

Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating feed in a network-based marketplace are described. The system includes a plexus of aggregation interfaces including a first aggregation interface and a second aggregation interface. The first aggregation interface displays content elements and the second aggregation interface is for reconfiguring a presentation feed. The system communicates the first aggregation interface to a client machine responsive to receiving a first selection via a source feed identifier presented in the first content element of the first presentation interface. The system further communicates the second aggregation interface to the client machine responsive to receiving a second selection, via the first aggregation interface, the second selection identifying the second aggregation interface. The system receives a third selection via the second aggregation interface, the third selection causing removal of the first source feed from the plurality of source feeds that comprise the presentation feed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for providing on-line advertising with dynamic content is disclosed. Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for managing a physical inventory. Image data from a number of cameras is processed to recognize inventory items from identifying indicia and determine their respective locations to build a three-dimensional model of the inventory item distribution. Comparison with a database model of the inventory item distribution may indicate discrepancies, such as misplaced items. A picking agent may be dispatched to pick a target item by following a particular path, which may be designated in an overlay on a portable heads-up display. The picking agent may also perform a corrective inventory management action on a non-target item while picking the target item. The corrective inventory management action may include repositioning an item, reorienting the item for better visibility of its identifying indicia, replacing the item's identifying indicia, determining if the item is of expected weight, and gathering new image data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for defining, generating, utilizing, and/or detecting a geo-fence are described. A trigger is obtained, the trigger generated in response to a change in a geo-fence criteria. Abstract: Image data comprising an image of an environment is received from a mobile video device located at the environment. An image of a marker is extracted from the received image for use in identifying the location of the mobile video device. A location associated with the marker is extracted from a database and the extracted location is sent as the location of the mobile video device. Also received is a request for information about an item in the environment that is of interest to a user of the mobile video device. A location in the environment associated with the item of interest is identified, and the information indicating the location of the item is transmitted to the mobile device for display within an image of the environment on the mobile video device. The item of interest may be displayed as an augmented reality within an image of the environment.

Abstract: A method of enhancing search results pertaining to an item with information about the item from a social network is disclosed. It is detected that a user is searching for information about the item in a context outside of a social networking context. Data relating to the item is collected from a social network of the user. A notification of the data relating to the item is generated to supplement a search result that is to be presented to the user in response to the searching.

Abstract: Systems and methods for an e-commerce enabled digital whiteboard are described. The system receives first initialization information, over a network, from a mobile device that includes a description of a first vehicle and a description of a first repair for the first vehicle. The first initialization information is stored in a first context. The system further receives a first request to attach the first context to an online collaborative workspace. The system further attaches the first context to an online collaborative marker that is associated with the online collaborative workspace. The system further generates a first interface based on the first context. The first interface includes the online collaborative interactive workspace including a first repair schematic including instructions for the first repair for the first vehicle. The system further receives a second request, over the network, from the mobile device that is also processed based on the first context.

Abstract: A mobile app for a mobile device includes logic for an overlay for the UI of the mobile device, and a location on the UI where the overlay is to be displayed, as specified by the user. The mobile app also comprises a scanning layer to create a list of items to be located and acquired. Instructions for locating the items, and objectives for ordering the locations of the items on the overlay are received from the user. The objectives may be for a trip to acquire the items, such as total cost, time, number of stops, preferred establishments for acquiring the items, preferred brands of the items, and other bases. The locations of the items are identified and filtered in accordance with the instructions. The locations of the items are displayed on the overlay at the area of the user interface specified by the user, according to geographical location.

The system receives input information identifying a plurality of data sources from which to retrieve digital content. Finally, the system communicates digital content to a client machine.

Abstract: A system and method of intelligently recommending items based on social media communications are provided. A communication with an audio portion in a first format is intercepted from a first service. An intent to transact is then detected within the communication at least in part based on analyzed sound in the audio portion. A recommendation engine can then be used to identify one or search results based on the intent to transact within the communication. Then a reply communication can be posted to the first service in the first format, with the reply communication including the one or more identified items.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for saving and presenting a state of a communication session are presented. The communication session may be established between a client device and an application server of a content publisher, and may include the presentation of content on the client device. In some embodiments, the method may include receiving user input to save a state of the communication session, and in response, temporarily storing session data representative of the state of the communication session for a predetermined duration of the communication session. Updates to a graph database can be performed by associating an attribute node, that stores the updated value, to the entity node to-be updated. When the entity node is queried for the value, the nearest attribute node is identified using a shortest path determination.

Abstract: Techniques for locating and identifying mobile devices are described. According to various embodiments, an ambient sound signal may be detected using a microphone of a mobile device. Thereafter, it may be determined that the ambient sound signal corresponds to a predefined user query for assistance in locating the mobile device. For the, a predefined response sound corresponding to the predefined user query may be emitted, using a speaker of the mobile device.

Abstract: Systems, methods and media for managing digital rights in three-dimensional (3D) printing are provided. In one example, a registration of digital rights in a first 3D object is received from a first user and via a portal. The registration includes a certification device. The registration including the certification device is published in an online environment, and the first 3D object is made available for replication by second users via the portal. A request for access to the digital rights in the first 3D object is received from a second user for 3D printing of the first 3D object. Permission is granted under the digital rights in the first 3D object to the second user for printing the first 3D object. Instructions are electronically transmitted to a 3D printer to print the first 3D object, and the 3D printer prints the first 3D object based on the instructions.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a method and system for high-volume distributed script error report handling. A group of user terminals may be selected to report errors, where the group of user terminals is a subset of user terminals having open user session and the group of user terminals is smaller than a predetermined threshold value. An error report, generated by a user terminal in response to a script error, may then be received, where the user terminal is in the group of user terminals selected to report errors. The received error report may then be processed to create a processed error report. The processed error report may then be presented to a service user.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for enhancing a user's on-line experience by utilizing a computer-implemented on-line session trace system is provided. The on-line session trace system is provided in connection with an on-line trading platform. Abstract: Systems and methods for weak authentication data reinforcement are described. In some embodiments, authentication data is received in a request to authenticate a user. In response to detecting weak authentication data, the systems and methods determine whether the user was previously authenticated as a human user. An example embodiment may include initiating an authentication process based on determining that the user was previously authenticated as a human user.

Abstract: A method, system, and article of manufacture for recommending items for a room. An image of a room is received, a box image is fitted to the image of the room. Information is extracted from the fitted box image and is used for recommending items for the room. The image is a color image and extracting information is done by extracting color histograms from the fitted box image. The color histograms are used to determine items that match the color scheme of the room, the lighting of the room, and/or the decorating style of the room.

Abstract: Methods and systems enable access to listing performance data used in conjunction with a search engine to order search results. A request for listing performance data for a specific item listing from a seller is received from a client computing system. The request specifies a keyword and/or a category. The request is processed to retrieve the listing performance data corresponding to the specific item listing, and a position value is determined that indicates a position at which the specific item listing would appear to a potential buyer in a search results listing having a plurality of item listings based on a search using the keyword and/or the category. The listing performance data and position value are transmitted to the client computing system for presentation to the seller.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure include a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing a customized fitting room environment. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include identifying a garment being brought into a fitting room, and determining a garment type of the garment. The method may further include adjusting one or more environmental settings of the fitting room based on the garment type. Additional aspects of the present disclosure include further adjusting environmental settings based on various combinations of user data and a desired use case of the garment specified by the individual.

Abstract: A software widget running on a user device may be designed to operate in a locked or an unlocked mode. In unlocked mode, the user has full interactivity with the widget. In locked mode, however, at least some of the interactivity with the widget is restricted, despite the fact that the widget still operates normally otherwise while in the locked mode. While in locked mode, user input may be compared against a predefined unlocking sequence to determine if the widget should be unlocked.

Abstract: Systems and methods for passive social media contact engagement are provided. In example embodiments, a publication that represents an item available for purchase is identified. An item image for the publication is accessed. A profile image using the item image is generated. The profile image is assigned to an entity profile, corresponding to an entity associated with the publication, of a social networking service. The assignment of the profile image causes the profile image to be displayed to members of the social networking service in place of a member profile image.
