3D images of the re-designed Switch 2 dock, Joy-Con Grip, and more just surfaced online

Nintendo Switch 2-official

We recently put up our master Nintendo Switch 2 guide, collating all of the details, leaks, and rumors that have surfaced on the next-generation console. Next up, some alleged 3D renders of the Switch 2 dock from historically reliable leaker. While we have already caught  glimpse of the Switch 2 dock in the first-look trailer Nintendo revealed, these supposed official renders of the actual dock give us a 3D look and perhaps some additional details alongside some renders of the Joy-Con Grip and charger.

A CAD render of the dock has surfaced on Famiiboards and via images posted to Imgur courtesy of what some consider quite a reputable leaker, Xiaohongshu.

The renders give us a a 3D look at the dock, which appears to have some kind of grid pattern on the bottom – the internet seems to think this could for additional airflow purposes. The Switch 2 is likely a roe powerful machine and will require some kind of help when it comes to cooling. Famiiboard members are suggesting slots inside the dock line up with the intakes on Switch 2, which could suggest a similar setup to what we see on Xbox machines.

Renders of the Joy-con Grip and a wall charger have also surfaced if you’re keen to scope those out. The Grip looks essentially he same as the existing model for the most part, but folks are suggesting the charging is getting a slight upgrade – its both a touch smaller by some rough estimates and will slickly with a removable cable this time around. While it might just be the lack of detail on the renders, it does seem as though the Grip will connect to the Joy-Con magnetically, but I guess we already knew that.

Nintendo Switch 2 guide – all of the price leaks, pre-orders, feature details, launch games, and more

Okay, we get it…this isn’t the most exciting leak that has surfaced online – we have seen price leaks, ex-Nintendo employees weighing on the release date, launch game details, and so. But, if anything, it does tell us that we are mostly in for the same sort of thing when it comes to the Switch 2 dock, or at least that how it appears at this point.

In perhaps more exciting news, at least for all o you Trainers, we finally got a good look at what will certainly be a Switch 2 launch window game as Pokémon Legends: Z-A  is now officially set to launch in late 2025 (the Japanese announcement actually says fall 2025).
