Hello all,

I wonder if anyone has experienced the following?

Basically I have a xerox 9303 - I’ve had numerous issues in the past month of users reporting print jobs held for resources - the jobs submitted match the paper/colour type and size with whats in each tray- yet randomly I have all 4 print trays via the web interface stating ‘waiting confirmation’

I’ve cloned the paper mgmt and tray settings with another exact 9303 with no issues- i’ve even set the trays to dedicated in the hopes of overriding this issue- same issue remains…

Anyone have an idea/ thoughts on this?

Normally, when you remove/replace a paper tray, the GUI will pop up a “confirm what paper is in this tray” screen. Does it do that?

It does - problem is the printer is in another office - apparently know one has touched the trays- it would make life easier if this was just users pulling out all the trays then putting it back in without confirming the onscreen UI …

I just wanna check if anyone out there has ever had this issue beforehand not user related-- kinda at a loss on this one.

At the post-secondary institution I work at we’ve had major issues with PDF files coming from electronic journals. The journals decided to re-process the PDFs and add headers/footers with copyright information and corrupt something in the process. The PDF properties report a standard paper size when viewed but when they are sent for printing they ask for a totally different, impossible size (ex. 2x1.6"). This can be seen in the preview window of the print dialogue.

But most often a problem like you describe comes from one person in the office surreptitiously using some special custom paper temporarily, then replacing it with the standard paper and walking away without changing the size back.

You can always call Xerox support and see if there’s a known issue and a firmware upgrade, too.

Thanks guys - really appreciated- it could be user error - might just set the trays to dedicated- really annoying now!
