I’ve been asked to complete a small project that an ex-employee started, but I’m a newbie at SharePoint lists and Power Automate/Flow. So, I could use some tips or direction.<\/p>\n
The previous employee created a SharePoint site and created a List. There is a button on the list to add items, which opens a small form with fields to fill in and a button to Submit the form. So far, pretty straight forward. But that is as far as she got.<\/p>\n
So, I’m looking at the Submit button and figured I needed to add a flow. I clicked on Power Automate on the left and created a new flow from a template that is called: Add an item to SharePoint and send an email. Looks perfect.<\/p>\n
My problem is right from the start. How do I link the button to this Flow and when I look into the Flow, I cannot figure out how to specify the SharePoint site or the list? It pre-populated with dynamic content but I don’t know how to fill those fields. Same thing for the email part, the form has an employee field and a supervisor field. I want to send the email to the employee and copy the supervisor. Not sure how to set that up.<\/p>\n
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I’ve spent the afternoon looking at search results on tutorials and how-tos but can’t find what I’m looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n

The form will either be a standard SharePoint form, or one Customised with PowerApps. If customised with powerapps you’d be better maybe triggering a flow from there.<\/p>\n
Assuming you want the flow to run after the item is created, the just go into power automate and create the flow there using the trigger when a new item is created or modified (in SharePoint).
