Did a search on here and this question popped up since 2016. So now it is 2018. Anyone know an good alternate to Logmein? The price seem to go up ever year and we just cannot pay this anymore. We used to pay for less < 1000 computers for $1000//year. Which is a good deal, The second year it jumped to $2000/year. Then $3000/year and now paying $5000/year!! this is insane!! the only reason we stayed is because its alot of work migrating all the PC over to the new software. I guess we have no choice now.

So question is What are you guys using that is cost effective?

Thank you.

Please check out Splashtop Remote Support Basic & Plus Pack . Over 30k+ MSPs have switched from LogMeIn Central Basic or Plus to Splashtop in the past few years, since LogMeIn keeps on raising its prices. Splashtop is at least 60% cheaper than LogMeIn Central, and users enjoy higher performance and enhanced features. Please give Splashtop a free test drive. I’m here to answer any question.

If you also need attended remote support to unlimited number of devices, please also check out Splashtop On-Demand Support (SOS) . It’s priced at $199 per tech per year, much more cost effective than LogMeIn Rescue and other alternatives.

Assuming this is for remote management/support, right?

We use ScreenConnect (ConnectWise Control), but we’ve only got 50 PCs and 2 users that need access to them so the pricing is gonna be different for you. The plan we have allows unlimited computers but we pay annually per user and it’s pretty fair. Oh also, each user license only allows 3 concurrent sessions. You can also get a self-hosted plan if you want the software hosted on your servers instead of in the cloud. In that case it’s not billed per user.

There’s also splashtop business, used that at my last job. That was cool because it uses a desktop app instead of a web page.

Overall I like ScreenConnect better, but both have mostly the same features and are cost-effective - definitely cheaper than logmein.

One thing you probably want to consider is deployment, I know Screenconnect can build a .msi installer for deployment via GPO. Can’t remember if splashtop does but I would assume so…

Thanks for mentioning Splashtop. Yes, Splashtop support .msi for deployment. Splashtop is well known for its high performance, enhanced user experience. & Splashtop Remote Support package includes unlimited number of concurrent sessions with free secondary user remote access.

Thank you. will give splashtop a try and see how it goes. I was testing it 2 years ago and it was pretty laggy. don’t know if this issues was resolved…

And there is IMPCRemote, based on VNC.

ITs like $60/tech/year.

Has both an unattended, service mode, and an ad hoc, instant version that requires no installation, and can be pushed out in several ways.

Now in the past on some of my corporate networks, I used TightVNC integrated with a network mapping program, so I could just right click and connect, unnatended.

So many options, all paid version have trials/demos you can download.

Find the right solution for your organization that fits your needs and budget.

Thanks for the shout-out, Matt2257 - Happy to hear you’re using Control!

ConnectWise Control is definitely a great option if you’re looking for other alternatives, David. Just to get a bit more background, what’s your environment like?

In the meantime, if you’d like more info on our various packages available, go ahead check out our page, here: ConnectWise ScreenConnect™ | Pricing Comparison

Another vote for control… I left LogMeIn Central a few years ago and went with connectwise control. It’s been great.

Realvnc I believe is usable over the internet nowadays and has good reviews

Another ConnectWise Control user here. Moved from LogMeIn about a year ago or more. No issues.

+1 ConnectWise Control. We love it. It’s fast and has great features we use a lot (file transfer, screen sharing, meetings, tech/user access control). We deployed via PDQ Deploy, it was super easy.

I use TeamViewer. It connects with Intune and I get some use out of that integration.

We use Go To Assist, around 500 PC’s, around $700 a year. Even if you needed two concurrent users, we do bump our head once in a while, that’s still only $1400 a year. I’m somewhat surprised at how well it’s worked, even tethering laptops off of cell phones. Good luck.

Another +1 for Connect Wise (ScreenConnect), we also were using LogMeIn and no longer deal with the absurd pricing. Connect Wise has more features and way better pricing.

Currently using connectwise screenconnect here. It works well. Had used teamviwer in the past. Of the two i prefer screenconnect for security reasons, auditing, permissions, organization, and price.

If cost is an issue, and you require remote access rather then remote support, Comodo One is a complete RMM tool that includes a free remote access tool, all you have to do is install an agent on the computer you need to access, it also lets you know if it’s fully patched and allows software deployment. Check it out: https://one.comodo.com/ - just to note, they will give you a call and email to begin with, but if that doesn’t bother you give it a try…

If you don’t need Internet based access, all machines are internal to your IT staff, look at Radmin https://www.radmin.com/ . The screen control, remote CLi, and file transfer options are great, even over slow WAN links you can dial down the detail and get good performance.

One time license fee, you don’t say how many PC’s your are managing, but I’d check out the demo and get a price quote.

Currently I use VNC for internal PC’s. GoToAssist for external and Teamviewer for personal. I really like how easy VNC is to setup and deploy.
