When I twittered my satisfaction of 4.0 I received the following response. Now then I think I am missing something painfully clear and may have to claim this as a blonde moments.

" I have checked it out but see no point to Spiceworks until they support checking multiple clients from 1 central location."

Is this not exactly what spiceworks does? I’m stuck on how to respond to them.

Maybe I should get a cup of coffee…

3 Spice ups

Hiya Carol,

Spiceworks will pickup all your devices but say you are a IT support company with 15 clients its hard to manage them with spiceworks in one place…

The following two how-tos are a bit of a bodge but they work

Unfortunately for the MSPs in the audience, SpiceWorks is heavily designed for the SMB market with internal IT and the MSP focus is just beginning to come along. So those of us supporting multiple, completely separate environments have a significant challenge on our hands at the moment. This will continue to improve over time as this is a major focus of the system going forward but as of today the options for this are quite limited.

We use VPNs to handle this which works but is hardly right for everyone (or even most MSPs.) The remote scanning method from Francis with the stunnel connectors back to the main installation is the best thing that we have currently as Andy linked above:

What is your Twitter ID?

I needed to clarify his term of “clients”. VPN seems like the answer to the issue but told him to try it, venture into the community and look for assistance here. Others are able to use it in this kind of environment.

Twitter request sent. scottalanmiller

Scott stop hitting one every1

The question is do I accept the request right away or make him suffer?

Make him suffer… lol

:frowning: Now I am sad.

I disappeared into a meeting offsite. To Scott’s relief he has been accepted. Plus I gave you both a reason to add to your post counts.

Yay. We are both helpful and loved.

Well, that may be going a bit far.

Oh well, we were hopeful.
