As you have probably already noticed, we have fully migrated to the new Spiceworks Community platform. If you’re already well acquainted with this update, continue reading. But, if you’re not, we recommend also checking out the community-release-notes for March 1, 2024.

This re-platforming marks a significant milestone for investing in our Community. Our primary aim with this move is to establish a stronger foundation for future improvements; it’s just the first step in a series of enhancements we have planned. This migration has allowed us to look hard at what has been successful while looking toward what we feel is necessary for the future.

Things are different if you’ve used the vintage Community platform. We have prepared some things to help you learn about the new platform.

You should see a private message from SpiceBot in your inbox. If you need help figuring out where to look, you’ll see an area for 'Messages ’ in the side navigation and, within that, ‘Inbox .’ If you didn’t get a message from SpiceBot, check out this topic: “How can SpiceBot help me?”.

We’re also bringing back the field-guide and this is a good place to learn about dark mode, categories & tags, tracking notifications, bookmarks, and more. So check out “Getting Started in the Spiceworks Community.”

The best resource, though, is the people in our Community. If you have a question about the new platform, feel free to ask it below or post it in the Spiceworks Support category. And if you have some pro tips to share with others, post them here, too!

Been looking, but haven’t been able to find the subscfibed topics list … or the new paradigm’s equivalent.

@DailyLlama has a similar question in another topic:

Thanks for that, @Sean-Spiceworks .

The “Things I am tracking” search seems to be the closest to the old “Subscribed” topics list.

When you say you have those searches bookmarked, are those browser bookmarks or Spiceworks community bookmarks (does such a thing exist?)?

Yay!
It’s so clean  Like it.

It’s good to be back. Congratulations to the team!.

I really like what you guys have done with the place.

Damn it is confusing and too busy. i just need to get used to where you have put everything. The old one was simple and easy to find where everything was because it was where it should be. This one it is all over the shop and it is easy to miss the reply button because it isn’t where you would expect. Though i said this in testing.

i am sure i will get used to it.

I still have a maintenance banner, and not sure, but seems when I visit a topic, I get subscribed to it automatically.

New style is the same format as they use over at Syncthing’s forum so was expecting something new and funky.

I recognise this forum software, it’s Discourse! It’s somewhat popular in many other communities, so getting used to this should be very easy, at least for me.

Good work :grinning:

It’s all so clean and shiny.

Also, Yay Dark mode!

Where did the daily challenges go?

9 Spice ups

They’re gone for now, but there are plans to bring it back:

Daily Challenge. We know this feature is near and dear to many members, but it’s time to retire the “beta” version. As such, we will not migrate it over in its current iteration. Any Daily Challenge badges you’ve earned over the years will move to your profile Don’t fret - we plan on bringing a new and improved Daily Challenge back in the future.

Cluttered. Looks like something on the Japanese www.!
Awful - ROLL BACK!!

Can’t say i’m impressed, very cluttered/messy screens. 16 years on SW and told i’m trust level 2!
Can’t see my spicepoints progress, just a leaderboard (not interested in what others are doing), just where I am on the current level.
I’ve said elsewhere, very poor commuincation about the change (unless you’re subscribed to the beta channel apparently). Was only aware it was changing on Thursday last week - not good PR from SW.

It’s taking some getting used to, but overall it feels fresh, new! I like it!!

I hate the waste of space. I have 24" monitors - and about 40% of the width is raw white space. Uggh.

On the daily challenge I had quite a record going of not missing a day. Will that stay in tact?

Who took the plastic off?

Let’s do this! Shake & Bake. Yes, that just happened.
