This is part of the Spiceworks Community field-guide.
SpiceRex, our Community mascot, has brought a friend to team! You’ll get introduced early on to SpiceBot as you start to learn our Community platform. SpiceBot will run you through a few site tutorials and a few other fun mechanics, such as dice rolls, quotations, and it can even tell your fortune.
Learning the ropes and earning some badges & certificates
SpiceBot not only will teach you a bit about how to use the Spcieworks Community, when you finish each tutorial, you get the bonus of not just a sweet certificate but also some bling for your profile (aka badges).
Want to learn more? Of course, you do! To get started, head over to the profile for SpiceBot:
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/spicebot/summary
On SpiceBot's profile, you should see a 'Message' button. Make sure you use this method, as some attempt to start the tutorial via a personal or real-time chat, and that doesn't work.
In this message, you'll want to type:
@spicebot start tutorial
After you send that message, in a few moments, SpiceBot will reply. Apparently, it even takes time to type for SpiceBot!
Once you've finished that and you're up for the next challenge, there is the advanced version:
@spicebot start advanced tutorial
If you've tried out the tutorial(s), what do you think? Was it easy to do? Was it helpful?
But wait, there's more!
SpiceBot can also engage in topics and group messages (but not in real-time chat, at least not yet!). Here's a few more fun ways that SpiceBot can participate in conversations:
@spicebot display help
@spicebot roll 2d6
@spicebot quote
@spicebot fortune
What would you like to see added to SpiceBot next?
