Hi All - Has anyone used an on-demand video service like CBT Nuggets or Trainsignal to complete a certification program?
I’m putting together a list of such services, so if you have please, let me know who you used.
Thanks,
Doug

Not sure if this would qualify but it’s a good site for IT (who support >) CAD Engineers:

I’m thinking of using CBT-Nuggets (a colleague used them and I’ve watched a few of the videos). Seem good and concise for the subject in question.
I’ve gotten certs and used computer based training in the past. Can’t say that it was on-demand video, though. And it was just a part of the education process.

I have seen and learned a lot of information from CBT Nuggets, it was part of my education, I did not turn them into any certifications though.

I just used professormesser.com (free) to study for my Network+ which I passed 2 weeks ago, and now for my Security+

I used skillsetsonline.com for my CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications. They have training/preparation materials for a large number of IT certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, CISCO, and more.
I have also used Professor Messer. Guy is great! So detailed and explains everything nicely.

I have used both train signal and itdvds.com, both have affordable monthly plans. This is something that Train signal just implemented. CBT nuggets is just to expensive and not any better than train signal.
I find a training video to be a nice and almost necessary complement to book reading. It also helps me when I need to work with a new technology in my lab.

Perfect. Thanks all. This is exactly what I’m looking for. Keep 'em coming.
From here, I’ll start to compile a list of these training service so they’ll be easier to find and research (something like this http://community.spiceworks.com/cloud/webhosting/reviews?source=ResearchNav#!). Soon we’ll start ranking these products based on how well rated and reviewed they are, so be sure and add your sentiments if you’d like to see things show up higher (or lower) on the list.
Also - I’m open to suggestions if you guys would like to see other lists like this.

I’ve used CBT Nuggets to brush up on a few topics and found them quite good, specifically Cisco and VMWare.
I used CBT Nuggets and Train Signal to pass 8 MCITP exams.

Local college uses TestOut, http://www.testout.com/
Using Lynda.com, though it is not meant for IT users. Better angle for creative types (Adobe, etc).

I would definitely gets some training we use. http://www.careeracademy.com/network-engineer-training-all-access.aspx
I find Measure up more important than video training because it gives you bunch of sample tests to take.

“If you follow this certification preparation method and fail the corresponding vendor exam twice within 90 days of your practice test purchase, we’ll give you a full refund of the purchase price.”
I got two certs last year with these guys.
