Has anyone had any success in using the bulk import script to do bulk edits? I haven’t had any luck so far adding or modifying fields. I use the same type of CSV file and the same script for importing new assets as I do I do when I try doing bulk modifies. The only difference in the script is I use -no-manual so I don’t get duplicates.

Hey Scott,

Are you getting any errors whenever you try running the import, or does it look like the changes just don’t make it to the app?

Hi Jon,

No errors at all. It Imports and says success, but no changes are made.

Hey Scott,

Hmm what version of Spiceworks are you running? It you’re not on 7.2.00226 can you upgrade and see if the same problem persists? There was an issue related to the -no-manual flag but it’s been fixed in a recent update. I’d like to make sure that’s not the issue.

I was on 7.2.? and then upgraded to Version 7.2.00226 when I didn’t see any changes after the imports. Same results after the moving to Version 7.2.00226.

Hey Scott,

Hmm, we may need to get a copy of the CSV file over this way. Would you be willing to shoot that over, along with a reference to this tread, to support@spiceworks.com.

Alternately, if you feel comfortable posting the CSV here then you can. But I don’t imagine you want to post the device info out here in the wilds of the Internet.

I just sent 2 CSVs over.

Hey guys just saw this thread, what was the outcome. I’m having a similiar issue where I’m importing a csv but the new devices aren’t showing in spiceworks. The only remedy i’ve found is to give each device a unique name instead of having ipad i did ipad # (increasing per device) serials are unique so i dont know why this would be an issue
