Hi,

I am the sole IT guy at a company in Dublin with 60 employees, 40 in the office and 20 Sales guys on the road.

I look after and resolve most of the IT issues but am looking for recommendations for an IT company that i can escalate some issues to and who would work on projects such as upgrading vmware to 5.5.

We are working with a larger IT support company at the moment but they are more dedicated to their large multi-national clients and are not providing great support to ourselves so i would be leaning towards a smaller IT company that provides better support for SMB’s.

regards,

Seamie7

6 Spice ups

Seamie7 feel free to PM me. Im in Dublin and have been around the block with a few suppliers. We have an absolutely brilliant support company now. They are one of the bigger outfits (hopefully not the same you are using) so might not be a perfect fit but I would happily recommend them. They have some excellent engineers and have been very good with us

We do most support in house so contract out some limited specialist stuff so they don’t get a lot from us but are always on hand when we need them

Always good to know some more local IT/spiceheads as well

Are you looking for onsite coverage or remote coverage. There are many MSP’s on the community  that can work remotely for you here in the states but a couple in the UK or that have UK staff as well.

Sounds like remote work or not-exclusively local would be best from the description. Going purely local limits the options dramatically and encourages providers to think of customers as captive since any location can only have a few decent providers of any scope.

Our current IT Support company covers printer repairs - occasional onsite visits for hardware or software issues for server, storage, backup library and other comm’s equipment - cover for when i am on holidays - some hardware\software projects so remote support on its own wouldn’t be suitable.

Understood. Escalate issues can mean many things there. You’ll definitely need “local hands” then.

Quick geography/history update

Dublin is in Ireland and telling people they are part of the UK tugs a few historical “issues”
