I’m self-studying my way through the CCSP, and I’m going to need a few more appliances in my home network lab, does anyone have a good source for cheap gear other than eBay? Thanks!

Do you or your company know any MSP’s, or vendors that will let you borrow some old stuff?
any user groups in your area? usually there are other folks like you that have done the same thing or are upgrading their lab equipment and would like to get rid of their old stuff. they would be a good source for telling you what works and what doesn’t also.
I don’t know of any user groups in my area, There may be, I’m just not aware of them. Also - I do personally know a local CCIE, and he’s hooked me up before, but it’s an unreliable connection.
I also know that there’s a local Cisco depot where they just hold tons of gear, sort of a waypoint, but I don’t know of anyone connected with that. The search continues.
What are you looking for, I think I have some old switches and routers and stuff
I’ve bought from these guys before:
UsedCisco.com is the world's largest network hardware outlet. We sell thousands of Used Cisco Routers, Catalyst Switches, Used ASA firewalls, Used Unified IP phones, wireless products, memory, cables and other network hardware to businesses of all...
What are you looking for? I might have it in my basement. LOL! Drives my wife crazie!!!
Going the security route, I know I’ll need a pix and an ASA at least. I know those ASA’s don’t come cheap. Thanks for all of your input. Anyone going to be in Las Vegas this weekend for DefCon or BlackHat leftovers?

Is this a legit company? How does the warranty work with them?

I got mine from a company (this was a few years ago) that sold “lab” equipment on Ebay. I am looking for the company name. I am assuming you have looked at Boson’s simulators. They are good in a pinch, but I did purchase some hardware for my learning,as the sim’s don’t exactly work well together.
Also check with your local tech/community college if you have one. The tech school I went to actually had about 400k worth of donated brand new Cisco stuff. The semester class was like 300 bucks and you got full use of the lab. Basically I rented the equipment :O)
EDIT: found it http://www.ciscokits.com
Like I said its been a few years, but what I ordered showed up. They stuff isn’t exactly new, but it worked and they sent me a CD with the latest OS/firmware for “testing” purposes. I think this lets them get around (maybe not legally) giving you the latest OS without licensing it. They don’t actually install it.
they’re legit enough…just bought some 10GE GBICs for a core switch. Unsure of the warranty…never had to use it. Assume it’s similar to every other after-market warranty that covers used equipment (let the buyer beware).
Are you still looking for gear?
