We currently run " EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional" which has been very good over the last couple of years we have used it. We have an external hard drive in for a client at the moment which is showing a RAW partition, the EaseUS software is able to scan the drive & finds content as it should show, however when we run the recovery cycle it fails (regardless of the amount of data selected for recovery)

Can anyone recommend an alternative (low-cost preferably!) software we could try as a “second opinion” on recovering data from this disk?

Thanks!

I have used a Windows based program called ZAR before with pretty good results but it is not Free.

Otherwise, if the disk is not failing, you could try testdisk in Linux. Be careful with it though because you can do some damage if you try options other than the data recovery options. I would highly recommend using dd to capture a copy of the drive and lay it on another disk to make sure you do not harm your original.

You stated that the, “recovery cycle fails.” That is not normal for a mature app. It could be media damage, have you make a clone of the drive using DD? This would give you instant feedback of a bad drive.

Hi Matthew,

Have a look at Acronis Revive 2017 .

This one is only reliable data recovery software which works for me most of the times. And trust me it is very efficient.
