If you can not get your email system to stop sending me email after I have unsubscribed what makes you think I would have confidence in the products you keep jamming down my throat?

Whois HPE?

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Annoying gits, to borrow a slang term from somewhere else.

There are three other vendors on here who do the exact same thing, one of them got called out on it directly by 5 people but did nothing to solve it.

I had someone from HPE call me yesterday asking about a webinar I watched weeks ago… the call started out with a questionnaire, simple enough… then it rapidly turned into a sales solicitation and questioning me on my purchasing authority in the company. Apparently not making the purchases myself soured the caller’s mood, as she asked “Well can you give me the contact information for someone who does make purchasing decisions?” Internally I was asking back “Why, so you can pester them with your garbage calls right before lunch?” I just said no and she didn’t seem to want to talk to me anymore.

Guess I’ll stick with other, more polite vendors!

Oh, it’s not so bad. I burn all the junk emails in my virtual fireplace. Makes for a nice display.

Do you have the virtual turkey roasting for Thanksgiving as well?

If you happen to be in Canada you could file a Spam complaint with the government. Maybe a few hundred thousand dollars in fines but motivate them to fix the problem.

I lose track of all of the unsubscribes that I put in. You could always create a rule that replies, or forwards it to a rep, with “unsubscribe” appended. Maybe to all of the account types that you can get an email address for.

Sorry, I get a little evil sometimes.

I haven’t had the issue. The first time I got a call I told them we already had brand new HPE equipment (which we do) and that we had no need for anything further at this point. So far no more calls.

Could have at least hid the cables under the television, my OCD is going mental at such disrespect for cabling…

Ironic. During my last ticket with them (bad blade), I couldn’t get them to email me updates or call me. I had to call them several times to finally get it resolved. However, their advisories come through like clockwork!

How funny, I’ve had three calls from HPE over the last 6 months asking if I was in the market for servers. I actually was and asked them if they could offer some recommendations. The rep said “Sure! I’ll have a sales agent get in touch with you”. Nothing. About 2 months later, identical conversation. Another 2 months later, identical conversation, but this time I added “If you’re not going to actually have a sales agent reach out this time, please stop calling.”

Seems HPE is interested in the idea of my business, but not the reality of it. I think I’m about 3 weeks out from the next call just like this.

I get at least 1-2 calls from HPE everyday. I felt like humoring them by answering the call I got today. They were asking about something I posted in Spiceworks about Windows Server 2016 licensing in regards to my HP server.

I mean really? Did I ask you to call me? No.

HPE is the worst, just the worst, huge huge pains

Probably because of something YOU did (like, “yes I will subscribe” or “yes it’s OK if HPE contacts me since I want to win this doohickey”). I was on a panel for them (testing a new anti-malware device) and only got one email from them after. No marketing whatsoever.

Definitely, it was a contest on spiceworks. I know what part I played. Why give the option at the end of the email to unsubcribe if their system is not going to unsubscribe you from their spam?

Just happened to me . . . spam emails from a rep I’ve never spoken to thanking me for speaking to her. 0_0 uhhh . . .no.

I do a lot of work in places where there is a lot of HPE guys and to be honest, given the latest round of redundancies, their staff morale is below rock bottom (I can’t emphasis this enough), the constant rounds of threats of job loses feels never ending and they have some really good guys, i fear not for long and many have applied for VR and others are looking elsewhere…

The worst thing is they do have a habit of not getting rid of the people they should do. I really feel for their staff and I hope the new HPE/CSC merger (will be called DXC Technologies) improves on the attitude to their staff, this will hopefully enable them to concentrate on their customers.
