Ah, just this workday and I’m taking off. When we hired a new full-time IT person, the first thought through my head was I finally get a vacation and lo and behold! At 4:45 PM CDT, I will be out of the office and free from IT till the 29th. Woohoo! I could barely contain my excitement as I wrote and scheduled my out of office reply. Can’t wait!

Awesome! I am taking my last vacation at the end of July. After that its finishing off paying these student loans. Enjoy your time!

Nice! Enjoy it!! I’ve just got back from my first holiday in 2 years (spent 2 weeks in Chile!) and I feel SOO much better for it :slight_smile:

That’s pretty cool that you get to come back to a 3-day work week (so long as work is giving you Friday the 3rd off for 4th of July). What will you be doing in your time off? Hopefully a fun adventure awaits you or a lot of rest and nothing - whatever you fancy!

Yup, I’m in a similar boat. I have to make it through the rest of today and all of tomorrow but then I’m off starting the 20th and don’t come back to work until the 30th.

Well, I have another 3 weeks to wait then off for a week down to good old Wales. I will then come back for 3 or 4 weeks and then have another holiday in August.

I get 33 days annual leave although I am forced to take 10 days of this over Christmas and New Year and I need to take 5 days at Easter and at least 10 over the summer plus about 2 or 3 Bank holidays. The rest I can schedule when I like.

Yeah the shark attacks are about half an hour south of where we are staying if I remember correctly. Also just a few minutes west via walking is Cape Fear. Hehe.

That’s what I’m scared I’ll end up doing. I have a horrible habit of spending late hours monitoring backups and checking router uptimes and everything else. I’m hoping I can resist.

Congrats. Hope you enjoy your vacation and don’t think about work. It’s a time to relax and unwind. It’s a nice long one too.

The last time I took more than 2 days off in a row was when my son was born and that wasn’t exactly relaxing. I am looking forward to my two 3-day weekends next month though. After that, it’s a long couple of months until September when I get to visit my family down in Georgia for a little of a week. I’m so ready.
