I am having trouble connecting though proxy to Spiceworks because the Certificate on https://frontend.spiceworks.com expired a week ago. Are there plans to have this fixed? It’s preventing me from checking for updates properly.

Furthermore: when we do the Proxy Test, it tries to connect to https://frontend.spiceworks.com/frontend/proxy_test - which for us, errors out from the proxy side (our proxy doesn’t allow expired SSL certificates) and causes the Proxy Test to fail.

The screenshot i attached earlier was showing the SSL Cert via our Proxy. The one attached here is the actual SSL cert (direct). But either way, it expired on 13/6/12.

Thanks for letting us know, we’re looking into it.

we are also having this problem.

I have also been having this problem for some time now. Thanks for looking into it.

Any update on this at all? Thanks.

The certificate is still the expired one (you can see by going to https://frontend.spiceworks.com/frontend/proxy_test and see if you get a warning page). Havent heard anything about it getting renewed yet though?

Hiya,

We released a build today that should hopefully resolve this issue. Would you guys be up for downloading the latest build and let us know if this still presents a problem for you when testing your settings on the /wizard/proxy page?

Thanks!

Yep, the update fixed it!
Thanks heaps!

Do you have an ETA as to when the SSL cert will be fixed? It causes other issues within the system. A good example is updating plugins. I get a “Failed to install the extension (Extension server request did not succeed.)” message when updating plugins which seems to be because it uses a https connection to install.

Plugins should be installing/updating using the new build. I’ll send you a PM containing details about where to send your logs so we can investigate the issue.

Sorry to resurrect a dead post, however there are still issues with installing plugins and reports.

Failed to install the extension (Extension server request did not succeed.)

I still get the occasional popup on login saying that the proxy settings are incorrect, however when I go to the proxy settings screen it tells me that it succeeded.

From what I can see, the SSL certificate is still expired, but im not too sure what to check when it comes to installing plugins. Reports can be installed by source code, but we don’t have the same luxury with plugins.

Cheers
