Fun Infographic on Being an IT Guy

Ran across this article this weekend and definitely started to try and categorize all my IT friends into the different personalities they mentioned. I have to say, there weren’t many people that I thought fit in these groups.

But when it came to the users, I can definitely group a bunch of my colleagues into these groups. What do you guys think?

The user categories were quite good, as well as the bit about being expected to be an expert in everything IT.

The IT stereotypes were exactly that, I suppose. But “hipster?” That term is seriously overused. It seems like half the population are being referred to as “hipsters” nowadays.

I might add to this: the “Token Goth”. Somehow, goths/metalheads find their way into “working with computers”. I find this stereotype is sort of true: I was on a dating site for metalheads and the most common skilled jobs that people had were IT/programming, graphic arts, music, or web design.
